What a comprehensive and well thought out video. Thank you for putting this together. God bless you

All these videos have been a huge help in designing my own tactics game! I love them but I’m not very good at them, and watching high-level play explained clearly for low-level players has been an awesome way to learn what are good sets of interaction to build into the game. Thank you!

Wagons also help as an escape vehicle for commanders who are weakened in the frontlines

Love this! it's exactly what I needed! Even though I'm not a beginner, I'm not nearly a pro like you. some things I would like to have been mentioned though: * Knights takes quite big damage from pikes when they charges * A good counter for giants are several trebs, the AI sometimes put them in crit range but I doubt a human opponent would.

Good points! I did mention knights can't attack into pikes actually, but it was very brief! I didn't want to say too much there because knights can be used for finishing off very damaged pikes during big wall breaks or attacks, and I didn't want to confuse folks too much. Usually though yes, pikes tank knights well. Also, while trebs counter giants, giants also counter trebs. You are right in the campaign trebs work well against giants, in pvp it could go either way. I sometimes make giants into trebs on purpose. It depends on the map and how many units you have to protect and limit the giant's movement and whether or not they can wall break your formation or attack elsewhere.

Knight crit does a surprisingly high amount to a pike, too.

To sum it up: 1. Soldiers: Cheap first-strike unit and even cheaper meat shield. Great for capturing structures, but don't ever think they'll win against tougher units head-on. 2. Spearmen: Cheap counter against Cavalries and below, including Commanders. Works best with Wagons to cover up their movement issue. 3. Dogs: Again, cheap first strike unit and meat shield, just like Soldiers. Cannot capture structures, however. But they make up for their long distance travel and necessity as a perfect scout unit under the fog of war. 4. Mages: Basically what will happen if you fuse field medic with anti-air armament. Prevails over tricky terrains such as forests and mountains. Handle with care though, their cost is equal to 4 Soldiers for a health of 1. 5. Archers: In my opinion, the most OP unit in Wargroove. Fragile as Soldiers, but if you play them correctly, Archers can pretty much counter anything that is not Giants or Commanders. Hell, even Cavalries are not 100% safe from Archers. 6. Cavalries: Cheap trash-killer and tank-buster. Give yourself 2 Cavalries with critical hit and you'll topple the enemy's Stronghold. Can also trade with Giants for a positive gold trade. But don't ever think that they can soak a lot of damage. 7. Ballistas: Solid anti-air siege unit. While having lackluster damage against ground and sea units, they are enough to chip and scare off trash units from afar. 8. Giants: Your ultimate ground force. Easily wipes out anything that is not flying or over the sea, including Commanders and Strongholds. 9. Trebuchets: The only solid counter against Giants and Commanders. They might cost you a fortune, but trust me: Keep them safe, and the only thing you have to worry about is enemy air units.

Hey thanks for the video! Maybe after you've done the all the types of units, maybe a short bonus video of what unit is the best counter to what other unit? Let's say an opponent is building a lot of pikes, what would be the best way to counter that?

Wagon is like super OP in some Arcade maps Especially when countering Hard AI.

You're forgetting that trebuchets counter Golems
@ujangprakoso29258 ай бұрын
Hell, if played right, trebuchets pretty much counter anything that is not flying, even enemy commander, and you can leave the rest to alchemists or ballistas.

Also gonna mention that a trebuchet is your only good option to attack naval units from land, although they still lose out against warships.
@SneakyDragon4 жыл бұрын
good point! I haven't seen as many use cases for that, but you are completely right treb is very potent against sea units if it doesn't get hit by them first.
