It's all being done on purpose because it's Henry cavill's favorite hobby and new show to work on,! ...they screwed The Witcher and now they don't feel good unless they screw this for him too. They need any excuse for that D.E.I. money. If he left Amazon show and decided to make a he-man live action show I'm pretty sure that they would go back change the Canon just to make He-Man gay and ruin another show for him

He-man is not gay yet but it seems you missed the new version of it called "master of the universe Revolution" where he basically becomes useless and even Skeletor becomes the side Villain after Evil-Lyn at some points. It even went so far in Questioning why Prince Adam becomes that while Shera is as competent while portraying her as even better

It was a lore change that really didn't need to happen. Why did it have to be changed? It's done more harm than good; it's divided the community even more now. We have the Sister's of Silence, a range that needs more support. Should have expanded that to be a playable army in both 30K and 40K. More models and lore etc.... But the way GW handled this lore change was lazy to the point of no cares given. We could have had Valoris, working with Guilliman and Belisarius to bring in new members of Custodes.

At this point Warhammer 40,000 should be given the Age of Sigmar treatment. Games Workshop has female models for their Stormcast Eternals line.

They have said there are no female custodians multiple times. Refering to the custodes as a brotherhood or the sons of nobles for example.

The apparent consensus that I've seen around some digital campfires of the internet is that female Custodes were planned from the start! But either they already used up the budget/time to make the models and didn't have enough of either to make female models. My memory could be wrong though. But besides that, if that *was* the case, why bring them back up now? Why now? Just seems orchestrated on the surface level, anyways.

@@A-Rather-Dubious-Character Exaclty! They also probably had better ways to introduce this story instead of trying to "there is no war in ba sing se" the fans. They could've introduced women to the selection pool for custodes because of the demands of the war. Unlike Astartes, this can be done theoretically. Then we could follow the story of this new custodes and go through her experience together in a story. Warhammer fans are army nerds, they can understand wartime measures and better rationalize what is an attempt at inclusion. They could've also added some intrest aspect lore wise instead of treating it as an absolute good, maybe explore why the Emperor had reservations about women gene manipulation. Something grim dark instead of my little pony friendship is magic they're turning the setting to.

since the age painting on metal models to plastic models now .. i have been spend roughly 700k as a hobby.. with my groups alone bunch of guys.. could be added up to millions more.. but now . . no more .. WH40K breaks their own codex !!! .. the amount disrespect, civil war among the fan, dissing all those my years spending time and effort .. no more.. i take my money spend on something else . .

Chadnerd, the reason its been done now is because the TV show is in production currently and Henry being the gent that he is has asked for them to bring in a bit of diversity for the sake of the show's overall appeal in a very competitive market for televised sci-fi. He is competiting with some big names atm that have been super successful. Fallout being a recent example. 40K has no chance in its current state. One reason i think a 40K show is a bad idea anyway tbh. But if they want to insist on making it, they need to make a few slight amendments. Simple. And also, the lore definitely suggests this is possible and probable. Impossible for Space Marines but totally plausible and likely for Custodes. Franchise has been around since the 70s. It was an antifa satire on right wing politics and Thatcherite Britain and very antiestablishment. This move is actually close to its socialist and progressive roots. The problem we have with newcomers to 40K, yourself likely included although i could be wrong, is that they dont really understand the satirical roots of Rogue Trader and 40K thereafter. Space Marines are asexual brainwashed xenophobes. Its satire. Its not to be taken too seriously. i.e. its British through and through and is struggling with a growing American audience who have completely different sensibilities. Its a discussion to be had. Im 44 years old this year and this all makes me laugh after everything ive seen come and go within this hobby.

Don't think I have ever played 40k or Warhammer and once thought I wonder what sexuality they are or wanted a white orc to represent me.. However I could be wrong there may indeed be a huge gate that's holding women and other people of different colours or backgrounds from entering the hobby just never has anyone found it bar the cost of the hobby which I bet GW won't want to talk about.

Its crazy you didnt think it would happen. This has been happeing for years! I remember having a conversation like 2-3 years ago about this. Ever since the "warhammer is for everyone" its happing because companies that are all about diversity and that side of politics own most the stock shares. Games workshop had to listen ahd appease who is paying for them to keep being a buisness. As sad as it is since its hurting the fans. But they own the stocks. Not only should you reject this declaration, but everyone should unite and agree that you have invested more money collectively into this IP than they have invested in creating it.. therefore, you own it. You own the story, you own the lore, you own the enjoyment you get out of the franchise. Do not give them a penny more until they tell us WHO PRESSURED THEM INTO DOING THIS? Becuase whoever it is, is doing it to every franchise at this point. They like to act like its organic and natural but clearly it isn't. Women custodies were in the first book ever written about custodies. This is the problem with people who get their lore from a codex rather than the novels. There have been no women custodies sculpts because gw didn’t make any. Also there is nothing stopping a custodies being a woman, they are not from a geneseed, they are each a custom creation. The fact that 99.99% of custodies are men doesn’t negate that gw are right that women have been custodies since the beginning. Ignoring all the bs politics and whinging the fact is that this was established in the lore along side the introduction of custodies.
