Warhammer 40,000 - Tyranids Tribute

This is a departure from your usual tribute style. It was very...atmospheric. Felt like I was watching an Ordo Xenos indoctrination vid that is trying to drill into the acolytes' head that, "This is an alien race like no other. It must be treated like no other. We must scour them from the stars before they do the same to us." Great job!

+MrMorphicus honestly, i would preffer if the tyranids hadnt been created, especially by the old ones. I dont like when an universe as vast as w40k is ties almost all the species to a single precursor one. The tyranids are much better as that extragalactic, completely alien, and incredibly horrofying "thing" that could be part of lovecraftian mythology, that just shows, that the universe beyond the galaxy is not grimdark, is pitch black, and that there might be even worse things far in the endless void.

I keep coming back to this video because its so awesome. Definitely captures the feel of the Tyranids. Frightening. Dark. Numberless. An extragalactic alien race that came into the galaxy from multiple directions? They conquer planets by drowning the opposition in sheer numbers. And all we've seen of them is their scouting fleets.

I always had this scenario in mind: every single factions of WH40k is engaging in a massive battle, then a Tyranid Hive Fleet arrived, descended upon the battlefield. All the faction are forced into a desperate alliance to fight the Swarm. But ultimately they all failed and was devoured......... until Games Workshop comes up with a faction that is worse than Tyranids.

usually a movie about a fictional universe suffers from either not explaining enough or too much in too litle time. W40k, with its hundreds of books on info, would suffer a lot from it. The only good way it could be done is if it was done asuming the watchers know the lore, so there is only story to tell.

@FireWRC That's the last thing I want on this earth. Bringing mainstream exposure to a very niche universe is not a good thing in my opinion. There's a reason why the lore is so appealing; it's ultra violent, edgy, all around gruesome, completely nihilistic.. our imperial "heroes" have the mentality of nazis. There is no way studios would touch this and give it a proper, respectful rendition aswell as making it lucrative and therefore appeal to the masses. I don't want Holywood anywhere near the lore I so deeply love. There is no way a big 40K movie franchise is going to be made in this day and age without it being completely watered down and stripped of what makes the source material interesting in the first place. In it's purest form this universe is only marketable to a very small minority of nerds, and that's not a bad thing that needs fixing.

And they do know how to battle, they do not proceed to flank or frontal assaults, they do both cause their infinite numbers allows them to do so... Though I play conventional in Warhammer, Tyranids have many features that I find appealing. They battle like insects but the hive mind is capable of tatics and understand warfare. Whats also interesting is that while other races are motivated by belief of gods, philosphy, and survival, the Tyranids are drived by the most basic instinct, consumption.

Damn 'Nids. Every breath they steal is a transgression to the God-Emperor himself, deserving nothing short of what all xeno filth are apportioned; complete and utter annihilation. On an unrelated note, they're probably my favorite antagonist alien species ever, tying up at the top with the Xenomorphs of the Alien universe. Also, loved the vid, music set the tone perfectly.

The Tyranids would be frightening in any science fiction universe, but it's really impressive that they manage to be frightening in the universe of Warhammer 40k, alongside factions like the Daemons of Chaos and the Necrons (and, hell, the Space Marines and I.G. themselves for that matter). The 'crons are still my favorite "evil" race, but the tyranids have a special place in every 40k fan's heart.

The Eldar and Imperium have united against Chaos on more than one occassion, same with the Imperium and the Tau, plus the Imperium did send the Nids after the orks, though I think that's going to have backfired horribly when they get done nomming the ork homeworlds and make their way towards Terra. The Necrons...they just want everyone to get off their lawn, even if that lawn encompasses most of the galaxy.

I never realized how scary the Tyranids were. *has a brilliant idea* Games Workshop, I implore you to create a Survival Horror Game (or film) featuring IG/Civilians (or both) attempting to survive and escape (not repel) a Tyranid Invasion. That would be epic. After all, we have experienced the God like confidence of the Angels of Death (in Space Marine), so why can we not see the vulnerability and weakness of the average human surrounded on all sides doing nothing but attempt to survive?

Yeah, this one went really strange. I actually had on mind, that Tyranids are a totally different force from others. Also notice that nearly all images' zoomings focus on Tyranids themselves. The imperium is pretty much screwed because the tyranids are attacking from every side of the galaxy and even from within by tyranids; tyranid fleets such as jormungandr that were though destroyed actually left large amounts of tyranids hybrinating on worlds that can be awoken by a single whim of the hive mind. Leviathan is attacking from beneath the galactic plane meaning they can hit anywhere. Hive fleets like colossus, moloch, and medusa assail the galaxy from the northeast,and the fact that

@Yupyuk I do remember spore mines did a lot more damage in general in the early stages of dawn of war 2... but not anymore... and what counts is the present lol. Unless you are using lictor and constantly using its ability to spawn spore mines.... theres no point paying 100-5 for a sacrificial unit that is not even sure to get a kill or even reach their target.

the tyranids are now fully aware of the inhabitants of the galaxy and what they can do. Worse of all is the ressurection of the swarmlord, who can be reincarnated infinitely so he can never die, the same swarmlord that easily outmanevred and outwitted marneus calgar of the space marines and kicked the shit out of him in hand to hand combat and has led the tyranids on the extermination of an entire galaxy before this one.
