Sussy Inquisitor 🤔 the name "Grendyll" itself is off-putting, and Agent Wrymwood is getting NO response. Hell, even the ship's name "Morning Star" seems ominous, considering an event in 30k involving a big RED DINGUS who broke the webway 😂

I think this is confirmed that Brahms is a Rogue Trader and not just suggested. There is a dialogue with the Ogryn saying something like "Shipmistress is a rogue trader, does that means she's a pirate ?"

I could swear I heard some in-mission dialogue about being part of the Ordo Hereticus. I think it was among the bits of dialogue discussing how people who work for the Inquisition are considered above the law.

What’s interesting is that Grendyl has a clandestine unit within the Warband: the Mortis operatives. Figured it’s black ops force for those that have the most potential of his agents.

Minor counterpoint: I'm not sure it's obvious that a puritan would go straight to the exterminatus route. Several bits of dialogue point to Atoma Prime as being strategically important because of it's production capacity re. armor/tanks. It's heavily implied that the wider war effort in the sector would be put in jeapordy if those factories don't keep running. I still think Grendyl is likely on the pragmatic/radical end of the spectrum, but even a hardcore puritan would have reasons to try and keep Atoma 'functional.'

From what I've heard from dialogue from my Zealot and someone else, the secrets of 'Moebian Steel' would be lost if Atoma would fall, so I can also assume that the Arms and Armour made on Atoma is of higher quality than the rest of the Imperium.

The persona of "Inquisitor Grendyl" could also be a cat's paw. A name used to divert attention, kinda like how in many groups and governments there are the official heads of state and, then, the people who pull the strings. Most believe wrongly than those in control are those carrying the fancy titles while it is, in fact, their advisers or closest servants who are in fact in power. If we witnessed any character who actually behaves like what we would expect an inquisitor to behave like, it would be Interrogator Rannick. Who also happens to be the one who welcomes us into the retinue, as official Inquisition Warriors. Hell, for all we know, Grendyl IS the headless Servitor we meet...

I’ve also wondered if grendyl is using the reject strike teams (essentially penal legionnaires) as a distraction. If we can accomplish the missions they give us great, if we fail? Just throw bodies at it until they succeed.

You can’t just exterminatus a planet if it viewed as to valuable like I think he says during his speech he doesn’t have the authority to do so

it is also described as a tank factory, with mobian ore beeing stronger than these of other planets; so Atoma is important to keep the war machine going, and like the heretics trying to capture it (see: smelter mission dialogue), the imperium needs that industry back, which it would inevitably loose with anexterminatus

@@Popirnot maybe because the spacemarines might cause more damage then good in a way because it will destroy the planet to a extent They need the planet as functional as possible to immediately start pumping stuff out also there’s the fact that space marine backup might take too long the inquisitor most likely knows he can’t exterminatus the planet, but the best case he could do is just contain the threat to an area then partial exterminatus the area, Hense massively relying on penal legions to push forces into a spot

That being said, do you think, as time passes, and new things are revealed in the game, part of Inquisitor Grendyl's team could include someone from the Adepta Sororitas, mainly from either the Order Dialogues (those who record and catalogue everything from battles and their results, to, languages of Xeno or other races, etc. ) or, from Order Hospitalar, ( those who heal those in battle and physical research of Xeno/Chaotic/ other enemies to better understand and the best ways to kill them) Also, a Inquisitor sometimes procures the services of one during questioning of whomever to put back together the one being questioned until the Inquisitor gets what they're looking for! We might be introduced when Darktide gets to the endgame, the finishing of the entire story! Inquisitors have employed everybody from the Sororitas, Rogue Traders, even the occasional Space Marine or two when s%#@ really hits the fan, whomever fits the current situation! In my mind, Grendyl is a Radical, because there's no way a Puritan would work with Ogryns, psykers, etc. (depends how extreme their views go!) Sorry this ran a bit long, just what popped into my head while watching this! Keep up the grat work!

If he's only interested in containing the cultist threat, perhaps he's order xenos, pursuing credible evidence of genestealer infiltration. Considering tyranids are sort of the main focus for this game's contemporary edition of the tabletop, I wouldn't doubt it.
