So Kais is a single soldier behind enemy lines who then against overwhelming odds, survived and completed his mission. Primarily using brutality, cunning, huge guns, and a knife. He's basically the Tau version of Rambo.

This game is my ACTUAL first impression on the 40K Universe. I just NEVER knew it. Until in 2020, when I reencountered the WH community. I delved into its factions and lore and then discovered the Tau. And seeing their armor, i was INSTANTLY reminded of this game. I NEVER knew its name. I remember this being my first introduction to Warhammer 40K. clearing this back on the PS2.. How cautious I was in progressing the mission: "No rest for the wicked." The first time I ever encountered the Chaos Space Marines: I remember legit being intimidated on dealing with them.. They just popped out of nowhere and that is just when I knew that Hell had broken loose.. Chaos was practically terrifying as a whole.. The fact they just popped out of nowhere, practically infected a space-battle cruiser like some organic disease, trans-dimensional hell straight up affecting reality and the ship was just tip of the iceberg.. The pit was the part where you are literally going down to Hell.. That required some actual instinct, patience and caution.. This wasn't just fast paced action.. it was a weird balance of being fast pace when you needed to be and the other was to take your time to take in what comes next because you'd regret your impatience if you didn't. Admittedly my knowledge on 40k was pretty much blind and still now.. But this was my first ever game and in spite of it's flaws.. I love it.. The second was DS Squad Command with a friend.. Not a bad turn based game but a pretty fun one..

Ah, the childhood memories of this game. Getting all A's on Normal & Hard was worth playing the game again earning those almost invincible cheats. I wish there were more WH40K games where the story is centered the Xenos rather than the Imperium prevailing or making them the central faction.

Agreed. Especially the Tau, since they're the closest to a "normal" sci-fi Empire, it helps amplify how insane 40k is. But an Eldar game would be kino, Aspect Warriors and Exarchs have perfect protagonist energy if done right. Or Orks. Just make more Xenos POV games that aren't turn based strategy games lol

Thanks for uploading a full playthrough of this game in high quality. I'd never heard of it until a few hours ago and so unlike some people, I have zero nostalgia for it. It comes across to me as an awful game by 2003's standards for FPS, but its emphasis on story was probably something 40K fans enjoyed a lot.

Huh, the Marines in this game are indeed Raptors, haven't played this since I was like 10 and I didn't even know the chapters back then but I remember these dudes being greenish and knew they couldn't have been Dark Angles wrong green, so figured Raptors? Nice to have confimation, also the dude at the end was Ultramarine and I think the Chaos forces we face in this game are Word Bearers but not 100%

I picked this game up before the pandemic i just love the warhammer universe but wow I wasnt expecting the game to get to hard I played it on easy I would hate to see what the normal and hard difficulty are like on it I found it hard enough on easy If that's how brutal it is in that game then I have no idea how the tau even have a chance the first space marine was tough the next lot wiped the floor with me then chaos came and brought dreadnaughts and other horrible things I love it and hate it at the same time it has potential for so many things with mods

You act like that's impossible. Space marines have been bitched on so many times by Orcs, tyranids, chaos and even at one point eldars. The Tau's technology as stated previously are super advanced compared to an average imperial guard so them dying to a couple of Tau members isn't off. Space Marines dying to Tau isnt a surprise either because if you searched up what could take a space marine down you'd see that it primarily consists of Tau weaponry. Your lack of knowledge is what's funny here.

Same but flipped the other way around, although I was first introduced to Warhammer 40K by Dawn of War II as a kid. I thought that Humanity (Space Marines, Imperial Guard, Sisters of Battle and Adeptus Mechanicus.) were the good guys, just to find out later that the Imperium of Man are majority awful and in certain bits evil. From growing up with Halo, even reading WH40K lore here and there, I.O.M. are just Covenant in Human flesh.

@unclesam5230 I'm not too wrong, and memory's a bit rusty on WH40K despite looking over stuff again. The overzealousness of the Imperium, even with certain factions, abhumans and mutants serving a role akin to (keywords: "akin to") that of the Covenant. Here's some examples, the Space Marines and Sisters of Battle are the Sangheli Elites, Mechanicus are Huragok Engineers (that can fight back unlike the latter), Guardsmen being Unggoy Grunts, Orgryns the Jiralhanae Brutes, the High Lords, Governors, along with those of the Inquisition's command are like the San'Shyuum and the Silent Shadow mixed in there.
