You should buy them in Europe. Cardmarket shows them at between €554 and €750 for the Collector's Edition Set and between €177 and €240 for the regular set. And those prices are including taxes.

I love the 40K sets. The surge foils look cool, even if they arent really anything special (similar foiling has been done before). At the premium that they are being sold at, $500+ initially for the 4 pack of Collector's, I personally don't think that they are worth it. This is especially true considering Wizards track record with foils over the last several years. I hope that anyone who wanted them bought them before they hit $1K because if the quality of foils is poor, then the prices will drop as has been the case with over products.

In my country it's pretty much nearly sold out. Normals went pretty quick, I ended buying 2 collectors for $440 NZD. Cards in it are solid and the foil look is great. I think this product will age very well

Dracula stuff was lack luster Forgotten Realms (novels) tragically got killed by WotC decades ago with lack luster generic in universe stuff. 40k players spend 60+ USD for 5 tiny mans THEY HAVE TO ASSEMBLE & PAINT! Thousands of dollars on toddler sized robots that again need to be assembled and painted. A stack of EDH decks aint shit.

I did put the numbers not including the 40+ new cards, just the possible commander staple cards in foil. Lands and mana rocks in foil is close to $75.

There’s just so many sets. The odds that you go to your local shop and someone sets will match up with yours so you can actually play a fair game are slim to none. That’s why Everyone started playing commander but you just have to figure is it worth buying a whole box of boosters just for the chance of possibly getting one card that’ll fit into a deck of 100 cards. It just doesn’t have the same ring as getting a power nine you can use for decades.

The price creep is just what's killing me. And the product isn't really changing. Sure reprint equity this and that, but the value of something isn't the sticker price, it's what it sells for and if stuff ain't moving whelp. As for the 40k decks, I wish it was indicative of the value we'd see in the future but my store owner simply said, "if these weren't a home run, GW would never work with them again. Easiest bridge to burn" I also wonder if they're gonna be proof of concept/sale pitch to future partners so they're trying to gild the lily as much as possible. I dont know if a lorwyn block style crash is on its way or if it's gonna be a plateau and cool off but I'm kinda curious to see what the market adjustment is after the last 18-24 months all gas no break buying spree.

WotC’s products are genuinely well-engineered. Design, art, power; it’s all there. The problem is the over reliance on too many variants, far as hell release schedule, and aggressive pricing that’s taxed the market. BG isn’t bad. DU is a pretty damn good set. This Commander tie in set seems like a fun product. Fingers crossed their marketing and business teams get their shit together.
