So, bit of a cheeky one for the Night Scythe, that combo is absolutely disgraceful in the Hypercrypt Legion because, not only can you put it into reserves at the end of the enemy turn therefore basically drop spamming tesla almost wherever you want, but it is one of 4 vehicles that can actually benefit from the Quantum Deflection stratagem.

What about a big 20 man brick of Warriors in Awakened with Orikan and an Overlord with the Stealth enhancement? Can auto advance 6" and still shoot with stratagem, and spam the reactive reanimation for free. Still not good at the Warrior price point?

That pivot thing isn't an issue because the charge has already failed before you pivoted for free. I.e. if you came in from deepstrike 9 inches away and positioned yourself horizontally, you roll a 6 on the charge, you automatically fail the charge before you pivot the vehicle.
@WorHammer40k3 ай бұрын
No mate. For a charge to be successful, your unit must end in engagement range of its declared target(s)

More nerfs to us necron players, ctans have again lost mobility (hypercrypt) and wraiths (all). See, necrons aren't allowed to have anything that isnt a glass cannon. Everyone wants our stuff to die like the horde stats they have but forget about the ever increasing elite level points costs we have to deal with.
@WorHammer40k3 ай бұрын
We were amazed c'tan didnt go up in points! While nerfs never feel good, these aren't gonna make necrons unplayable. We'll still be competitive
@danjones30123 ай бұрын
@@WorHammer40k keep in mind that with the nerfs that have happened since our codex; the win rate has gone down to low 50% competitively and with Pariah being so msu orientated, the elite costs of necron infantry does and will indeed see that % drop further since most other armies get in some cases 2x the amount of fielded units along with more than 2x the total wound count (including average of 7 reanimated wounds per unit if it had to reanimate all 5 command phases) and half the amount of attacks as comparable units aswell. The canyon of power differential at the codex release has quickly turned into a narrow gap and is about to be a canyon not in the necrons favour.

do you guys think there should be a defensive/offensive buff to warriors? i keep trying to run immortals and warriors with an overlord and a technomancer w/some canopte backuo in small points games and they just get steamrolled. I think overlords could do with a strength buff too
@WorHammer40k3 ай бұрын
Honestly knocking 1pt per model off them would be worth a shot in the first instance. But yeah they don't feel very resilient atm
@danjones30123 ай бұрын
Run Illuminor Szeras with them, he got point nerfed to 175 but is still worth it for the +1 ap and -1 enemy ap for the immortal units. Ditch the warriors unless you run Orikan the Diviner for the 4+ invuln because that 20 man unit will never reanimate enough to make a difference since the reanimation nerfs. Chronomancers for the -1 to be hit in ranged & melee is the only other defensive buffs that you can do for them. Stratagems can vary depending on detachment but the only core strat - go to ground - isnt really very useful except in very few scenarios. Technomancer & cryptothralls are still an interesting combo if your reanimation roll is favorable but is very expensive at 145.
@WorHammer40k3 ай бұрын

@@danjones3012 He was actually 150 pts before the recent update :( . GW keeps over correcting too many Necron units and abilities. For example, GW restricted crypteks from joining Lychguard 90% due to the Technomancer 5+++, Overlord -1 Dmg, Lychguard 4++ and Guardian Protocols making the unit -1 to Wound and then adding Cryptothralls with 4+++. GWs fix? Restrict all Crypteks from joining Lychguard due to the one Cryptek, the Technomancer. Then Strip 4+++ from Cryptothralls replaced by adding +1 Wound to each with no points reduction. GW then oddly adds Wraiths to the list of units the Technomancer can lead, leaving the other Crypteks still restricted to leading only 2 units. What made GW think allowing Technomancers to join a unit super fast Flying unit with Toughness 6, 4++ and a 5+++ with 4 wounds each, which makes the Techno's D3 Wounds effective/Fly by Mortal wounds/Free Dev Pistols...was the Techno/Wraith combo less worse than slow durable Lychguard? Especially when taken in the right detachment? Because of GW's bad decision, GW increases the Technomancer to 85 points, no points adjustment to Wraiths during that update. However all other Crypteks except the Psycho suffer a points increase. (Been thinking about 2-3 Pyschos since they are 55 points and they received a 6" aura that forces all enemy units during your opponent's command phase with a -1 to the roll in addition to their 18" battle shock test during your turn during multiple phases with a -1 to the roll) The potential to make your opponents units 0 OC and losing access to Strats during their entire turn or most of your turn if you can target a unit within 18" during your command phase can flip objectives, prevent Armor of Contempt, combined with a Triarch Stalker to strip units of Cover and adding Illuminor Szeras (I typically stick to Awakened Dynasty for the +1 to hit and accessing the bonus half of 5 of their strats and accessing Protocol of the Undying Legions in the Shooting and Fight phase with a Character Rez Strat) GW has a tendency of double nerfing units. They will increase a unit's points and also nerf the unit's ability. Warriors are the prime example. Thier Reanimation was too strong on objectives (D3+3) when their special reanimation rule should have beenwhen Reanimation is triggered, always replace the D3, with a rerollable D6. Strats like Undying Legions which can give a D3+1 if a character is in the unit still contains a D3 and would be replaced with a D6+1. Warriors 12" Gauss Reapers went down to Str 4 which isnnt going to make players swap over to Gauss Flayers even though they are 24" with 1 attack , at AP 0 with Rapid Fire 1 at 12". What they should have changed with the Flayer was the same treatment the Gauss Blaster received. (2 attacks up to 24" at Str 4, AP 0, lose Rapid Fire 1) Now Warriors have a compelling choice. A ranged attack with 2 shots with a range of 12", Str 4, AP -1, Lethal Hits or a 24" gun with 2 shots, Str 4 with AP 0, lethal hits. So in effect, Warriors had their Reanimation reduced to a D3, reduced Str on Reapers, Rez Orbs received too many restrictions going to a swingy D6 once per battle with only 1 unit being effected by a Rez Orb per turn once per battle and the effects do not trigger until the end of the phase. Wtf?? Reanimators are another overcorrection which was needed, but because GW made its aura 12" they reduced it to 3" when it should have been 6". You might as well make the Reanimator an attachable unit at 3"... Which is why Immortals will always be taken over warriors, even when adding a 40 point Royal Warden which I didn't realize has a Damage 2 Relic Blaster with 2 attacks at 24" and Rapid Fire 2 with Fall Back, shoot and charge. (which will give the Royal Warden his 4 shots at 2 Damage and the Immortals reroll wound rolls of 1 with +1 to hit) It feels like GW is so focused on restricting and increasing the points on Necrons, they are failing to address areas of the Codex that need help such as Annihilation Legion and Obeisance Phalanx (Which I think has the potential to be an interesting playstyle) Anyone remember when GW released the Annihilation Legion during 9th as an army of renown in a White Dwarf Magazine near the end of 9th edition? That was a fun and interesting version of the army. I dont know why they didn't borrow some of the strats and abilities from there? Ophydians had a Strat for 2 CP that allowed their blades to ignore Invulnerable saves. Flayed Ones had a Strat that allowed them to gain +1 to their Wound rolls if they charged from within terrain. They had a Strat that allowed Skorpeks to Advance and charge. Lokhust models got to reroll hits vs units below starting Str and reroll Wound rolls vs units that were below half Str. (Rerolling hits is great with Lethal hits) The current iteration of Annihilation Legion feels like none of the abilities increase damage. I like rerolling charges, especially on slow units like Flayed ones. Their two Strats that let them make a normal move when shot at or when a unit falls back, but restricts them from enterting their engement zone is very limiting. They need something like the Surge ability which is similar but allows them to re-engage, but I believe it requires a dice roll to see how far they can move?
