Which absolutely sucks because imagine if that swarm lord died before killing the predator. I think Skysilver takes it if he still had that predator as Venom cannon warriors don't do well against tanks and the rest of his army would be food for the tank.

SM had the most vanilla unit composition here so easily countered. Given that there were also already deathspitters it was easy to think noob!

They were far behind in resources and vps with limited options. It might look noobish to you... But in my mind the tactical marines were quite a logical choice in this situation. So how would you have gone about it dealing with the tyranids at exactly 25 minutes in? You only have 76 vps remaining. your predator tank is about to missfire and die to the swarmlord and the top right vp is looking like its going to be lost to the tyranids.

@@threshanimations7430 like I said vanilla unit composition. Better choice would be to not get yourself into that very bad position in the first place. Micro could have been better. Dreads could have been healed at base instead of idling scouts. Could have got ASM to tie up those never ending warriors. Could have not reversed into a dead end with his pred. All in all very noob.

@@redwren4182 If they hadn't dropped those space marines at that moment then they most likely would have lost on vps... They clearly messed up the dreadnought micro at the end. Initially they couldn't walk it back into base because of the swarmord. They were probably focusing on the urgent vp situation. But that's not what my point was. They were unlucky that the predator tank went down the way it did. And that is a fact! The opponent suicided their swarmord into the base. It's not a typical play if anything it is slightly noobish. So it probably caught them off guard. Not only that it looked like the swarmlord was going to go down but the predator got unlucky. I don't think they played that well. But I've seen noobs that are far worse. The average player is worse tbh. The fact the sniper scouts survived until the end and how strong their army was at one point dealing with a super unit says enough. I'm curious what your total playtime is in the game? Or if you spectate. If the predator didn't go down They would have had a large advantage in the game and most likely would have sent the dreadnought back to base. The losses meant that mostly likely the only option at one point was instant tactical marines or concede. Yes a balanced army is always better but sometimes you basically have no choice. Doesn't make the player a noob. Plasma tactical marines were quite effective against the warriors all things considered. Asm when your opponent has higher resources and most likely another swarmord or carnifex coming that late in the game?? It seems very risky to counter some warriors... Might as well try wait out for another predator tank. The warriors would also cause serious bleed to the Asm if they spread out. Termagaunts could stun them too. It was the swarmord that gave them the most trouble at the end. And that would have messed up Asm as well. Lictor could easily get menacing visage too to force the Asm to retreat after jumping. Asm would most likely not be a good play that late in the game. If your opponent reacts and plays reasonably well then level 1 Asm probably won't save the match either. I'd rather risk a plasma devastator and use signum armour tbh.

My total playtime is 2900 ish. Have seen a lot worse gameplay. You mention specifics but all in all both players weren't that good at them in that they were throwing units with no support, or reversing predators into dead ends - I appreciate that facing warriors were the alternative but then that tank was not supported at all and deserved to die. It misfired yes which may seem unlucky but no. Cannot expect your tank to carry on facing it's target of it's violently trying to reverse/ turn round between a swarmlord and trees. Again, well deserved player loss due to bad micro. Yes I tend to spectate also.

@@redwren4182 Well it's good to see you play the game too and I do agree skysilver was playing weaker that game then his opponent. But as a tyranid player myself there were things just like torpid pointed out that I wasn't a fan of. I don't think we can instantly say because Sky purchased mass tactical marines at the end he was playing like a noob. Yes many noobs spam set up teams or tactical marines. But they do that even when they have the resources and vps to go a different route. Like I said in this specific situation sky had limited options so I think it's a bit harsh to critique that so heavily. He shouldn't have let the swarmlord chase down the tank so much sure. I have about 2000 hours but I'd still consider that last missfire/ passage of play quite unlucky. Not necessarily because the tank failed. But because the tyranid play was high risk and they got away with it. It came down to the last shot misfiring. Ultimately they were quite lucky to bring down the tank. If the predator was upgrading to a las cannon or any other factors were involved the swarmlord would have been completely wasted.

I think if it was any other mid hero sniper scouts would far much better but with the lictor? Nah bro you're just feeding at that point.

The scouts detect the lictor tho so it somewhat balances it out imo. They didn't get deadly jump until the end though.
