There was something a tad bit horrifying seeing the stormtroopers run away from that knights just to be cut down by the reserve forces in the back, and the reserve forces stood there and fired like there was no danger and the lack of loud noises also helped in making it seem more like a massacre, or maybe I'm just ranting about a 9 minute battle video

Star Wars lasers sound like toy guns against the visceral sound of 40K's weapons. Star Wars walkers fire and it's pop, pop, pop, then the Imperial Knights open up and your ears explode.

They also wouldn't do any actual damage, Knights might not be fully Titans but they still pack an Ion shield, not to mention the crew of the Knights are BOUND to their Knight.

Retreat, because that's all the Empire can do when going up against anything from Warhammer 40K, anything Star Wars can think of that MIGHT help like the Jedi/Sith users will just be wiped by the psykers of Warhammer 40K. To even give an example the Jedi/Sith might think that using the force can help them, but you then have the likes of Chaos sorcerers warping in entire armies of demons behind them, nothing in Star Wars would prepare them for that.

FYI, SW Imperial military is designed to fight insurgences and not full scale war. Its one of reasons why the Rebellion did so well, the SW Imperial forces could be easily overwhelmed by high tech or just sufficient numbers of actual combat power. While in 40k, the forces of the Imperium of Man are designed to fight real wars.

That’s actually not true technically it’s just not shown in SW often or not enough. There is an “Imperial Army” and it was showcased in the Mimban war scenes in the Han Solo film. Stormtroopers are supposed to be elite shock troopers. There isn’t much information about them other than they exist and fight on the ground.
