I love this game. It is so fun to play with friends and I still play it. I am super happy that I have the physical cards to play with (the most fun anyways compared to digital), and am sad and very curious about what happened behind the curtains. Playfusion put so much energy into this system and the different armies feel true to the lore.

They really did do a sterling job with the game. I think you're spot on with them nailing the theme for the factions based on the lore. I think part of it was the digital game overtook the physical one but who knows. I really liked that the game was a good entry point for folks who wanted to know more about the Mortal Realms/AoS but didn't want to dive into the hobby side of things - thanks for dropping a comment!

@@BecauseOfDragons and thank you for making a good video! It really is a mystery that this game died within such a short time (meanwhile Lord of the Rings MtG is sold out in the opening week). I have been thinking about AoS champions lately and even bought displays to see if I could just get that Nagash, Archaon or Skragrott while there are still some boosters around. No luck yet though! Your video here confirmed that it isn't just me who wanted it to stick around for longer :)

Such an awesome game. Bought thousands of cards dirt cheap a few years ago. Me an my brother probably have close to 5k cards :D Most are unopened. To bad the "starter/faction boxes" or whatever they're called are so rare now.

Yeah I have picked up a whole bunch of expansion sets for basically nothing off Amazon etc during the last year or so. It's great that you've got a BIG collection to dive into so you can play with the different factions and have fun!

This is one of my favorite TCGs of all time man. Was super fun unfortunately I haven't got the chance to play the TCG side but I own a bit of the cards and had a bunch of fun with the CCG but was sad to learn that it took away from TCG side of things and ultimately lead to the demise of the game. I'm going to try and buy a few starters and a few booster boxes and collect n play this lovely card game.

Got introduced to this last week at the local game club, just bought 2 boxes from each wave because the were 15-20 a booster box, which as a magic player was pretty unbelievable. Played the orc deck for my 1st game it was not ideal to play the first game with due to the support mechanic requiring me to sequence things I had no idea were there or how to sequence. Second game I played the chaos deck my opponent had built which was a lot of fun, just waiting for my 2 wave 1 boxes to hopefully pull some khorney goodness

Yeah Orcs/Destruction can be a bit of a tough one to begin with but Chaos is a good one to get your head around. I usually run Order/Stormcast Eternals and then Chaos/Khorne as my secondary deck for mixing things up. Glad that you got to experience the game! It's great fun.

Great game. I don’t care for CCGs but it had great mechanics and it is a shame it essentially committed digital suicide.

Yeah it's one of those games where I wish it had lasted just a little bit longer! Would have been awesome seeing how they followed the main narrative beats of Age Of Sigmar

Yeah, it was a real shame that it sort of faded into obscurity. Solid mechanics and ideas but just no steam to keep it going unfortunately

@@BecauseOfDragons I think one of the issues was that the game was trying to keep up with the table-top game, but there wasn't enough units to make cards out of them. Also what they could've done was more cards unaligned to any of the grand alliances and some maybe some realm rules.

I still love the game! I fortunately have a full set of playsets of all cards. That I bust out occasionally

They ( GWS) shut down the servers and i think the tcg is on hiatus during the 2022 downturn , I'm hoping it'll come back. I mean smaller games from smaller companies have come back from the dead like Force of Will , and Genesis Battle of Champions, the latter also commited Sapuku.

I do kind of wish it was still around. I've had the inkling for Age of Sigmar for a while as it looks like a good fantasy world in its own right but getting into a while new ay as an entry point seems a lot.

Yeah, I would like there to be more entry points into learning about Age Of Sigmar. You've got Soulbound as the RPG and a few video games but it would be nice to see a card game or maybe more board games.

Game was great, i think the problem was the license itself. If it would have been 40k it would have been alive and well. AOS does not have the community you need...

I suppose that is also true. Attached to something bigger like 40K, this might have had more traction. I still think it was a great way to get more people interested in the idea of AoS though.

First played it at Adepticon ended up getting the mats for the factions along with starters. But unfortunately no one played it near me.

I miss this game so much. I play the physical version all the time with my fiancée, but I miss playing the digital version. I wish there could at least be an offline version of the game or something 🥲
