@@Whitewingdevil Slaanesh Daemons can be just as sadistic and twisted. Maybe even more so as they can break reality on an even more fundamental level to mess with their victims. Tzeentch Daemons might bring suffering that is different but just as bad. Khorne is merciful for a Chaos god. Nurgle is merciful in a deranged way. He smothers you with his love and gifts until you break and don't recognize your pain as suffering anymore. So while I agree that Dark Eldar are truly messed up and getting taken alive by them is possibly one of the worst fates in 40k, I have to say that Chaos still trumps that most of the time. Even Dark Eldar that are insane enough to let the Haemonculi experiment on them don't want their souls consumed by Slaanesh.

Bricky has another good video on the separate space marine legions. Recommend that one as well. But my highest recommendation would have to be the Helsreach animation. Its a fan made animated movie, based around the book, also called Helsreach. It revolves around the Black Templar chapter. Black Templars are one of the only chapters who actually venerate the Emperor as a god. As Marines and their primarchs typically dont view him as a god and leads to funny conversations sometimes as most people see the marines as literal angels

The reason why blanks feel so messed up to normal people is they don't even have the smallest connection to the warp. Thats why when in areas that are saturated with a stronger connection to the warp daemons can possess people and even if you are not a psyker the mental fortitude can prevent the warp from effecting you.

Something Bricky left out about the Eldar in both this and the timeline video was that the Eldar had figured out how to reincarnate with all of their memories. That means the only new things to experience, and to have feelings about, was what ever was more extreme then the stuff they did before they died and reincarnated. People get bored and do weird stuff during their 1 lifetime, imagine having unlimited lifetimes and nothing to do but do weird stuff.

I imagine you would get bored for sure. Sometimes I think immortality is the ultimate goal of humanity, but then I also think what does it mean to be human without an eventual end? 1:20:00 yeah, thing is, this is basically a worse version of how humans were before our AI rebelled and Eldars made Slaneesh. The Tau have progressively gotten closer to what the Inperium is. For example, after a largue fleet did warp travelz they realized they were attracting daemons because of their human soldiers, so they decided to execute any warp sensitive race to survive. The Tau are insignificant in the amount of territory they occupy, so much that they thought they had offed the God Emperor and defeated the Imperium after they defeated a Chapter Master of a Chapter of the Space Marines. The more they findnout about the galaxy they're in, the worse they get to survive. So, even though they're "the goodest guys" thatbjust means they're free eats for the rest of the galaxy. Humans were good once, and Chaos and Eldar made sure we woke tf out of it.
@NordisktLejon
@NordisktLejon 26 күн бұрын
Regarding the Tau, their lack of grimdark has also been a weakness, they thought they could make friends with Orks and got krumped, after SEVERAL attempts they classified Orks as unworthy of the Greater Good, then they trusted the Dark Eldar and lost a entire planet's population to them. There is also a rebel Tau faction, the Farsight Enclave, ruled by Commander Farsight, the only Tau who uses his Battlesuit (the mechs) to wield a massive ancient sword of unknown origin that steals the lifespan of whatever he kills with it and transfers it to him, making functionally ageless.

My favourite little lore factoid about Nurgle and his Daemons: Beasts of Nurgle aren't the horrible monsters they legitimately look like, they're big puppies who are just really excited to meet people and play with them, they don't understand that they're accidentally killing people. They actually get their feelings legitimately hurt when their new friends are mean and try to hurt them, when they get depressed enough they find a place to hide and metamorphose into Rot Flies/Plague Drones, the process of which leaves them bitter and angry at all the fake friends who hurt them.

Khorne hates Tzeentch too, he despises trickery and psykers. and all the 3 older gods hate Slaanesh with a passion. 1:04:00 Ork space ships are *amazing.* In addition to cruisers like that in the photo (called Kill Kroozers), orks make Ram Ships. Because nothing is more orky than turning a space fight into a melee by strapping as many rokit engines on a barge as possible, and crashing it into a bigger ship. All the orks that survive the impact will be in the perfect place to start krumpin' the crew of the ship they just found themselves shoved inside of. The only thing more orky than that (Orks don't know what contradictions are) are Ork Roks. Why bother building a ship at all, when you can just strap ship engines and guns on an asteroid and hollow it out instead? (Rumors that the practice originated with Ork captains who crashed their ships into space debris due to bad piloting and couldn't take off again are unsubstantiated). These asteroids are like chaotic miniature battle stations and troop transports. However, when Orks invade a system, they often use the Roks as the first wave of planetary bombardment. Ferrying troops to a planet's surface is slow and boring. It's much more orky to just aim a few Roks at the largest settlements and crash into them like a meteor. Again, any orks that survive the impact _of falling from orbit_ are in the perfect place to start krumpin da 'umies. One has to admire their out of the box thinking.

53:33 I am FLABBERGASTED how you instantly deduced that Tyranids are the most powerful psychic presence in the galaxy! Also, please check out Secret Level Episode 5 and Horus Heresy trailer! Orks were create 60 million years ago by Old Ones to fight Necrons. Back then they were called Krorks, they were 12+ meters tall, had power armors more advanced than those of Space Marines, they were immensely intelligent and were flawless physical war machines. They were a perfect complement to Psychic Eldar. 60 million years ago during the War in Heaven, Warp was a lot calmer, so Eldar could safely use a LOT more power without exploding or getting possessed, I am talking shooting down multi kilometer ships in orbit from ground with telekenisis-each. Krorks were physically comparable. After War in Heaven Eldar backstabbed and pruned the Orks for 60 million years until they devolved into what we see today.

I've been a Chaos Daemons player for 2 decades now (christ I'm old... a Longbeard in warhammer lingo), I started the faction because it was the cheapest army I could buy to get started in 40k for a progression league that was running at my local game store(a progression league is where everyone starts with quite small armies and it gets bigger every month, great way to get people into the game). I just fell in love with my weird little army, the way it played was fundamentally different to every other faction (at the time... they've lost a lot of that flavour on the tabletop since then), they weren't all that competitive, but goddamn it was fun. The weirdest part about how they played was that you didn't set up your army on the board before the game started. Your army would randomly pick half your units to appear out of nowhere on the first turn, the rest would arrive randomly on subsequent turns. I actually loved going second because it meant my opponent literally had nothing on the board to shoot at :D For the 40k fans reading this, yes, that means your entire army arrived via Deep Strike, imagine how strong THAT was(though on turn 1 you still had to arrive inside your deployment zone), but keep in mind this was OLD Deep Strike, where 2/3rds of the time your unit would arrive in a random spot near-ish where you aimed for, if that unit landed even partially on terrain, off the board or on an enemy unit... that unit was just GONE. Risky, super swingy army, god I loved it.

33:45 yeah of you open the map of galaxy in 40k there is huge gaping hole (well, now a rift but a hole is still visible near its center) called Eye fo Terror. That's literally where main central systems of eldar empire were. They are still somewhere in the warp, haunted husks of former civilisation. But that hole is literally the whole within material universe into the realm of chaos. Birth of Slaneesh literally ripped a giant breach in reality itself for warp to bleed into realspace. And all that within moments of its birth. It is written that 9 out of 10 eldar were obliterated as Slaneesh fogurstively "took its forst breath" ingesting their souls. Both Craftworlders and Drukhari and Exodites and Harlequins are sad postapocalyptic remnants of their former glory.

The Warp is a plane where your very emotions and thoughts can take form around you. If you were to stand on a planet in the Warp and decide you want a margarita, oh look, you have one! but then you hope they didn't short you on tequila, so now it's all tequila. The sudden intense smell of the alcohol, hits you and your first thought is "Woah that's quite a hit." ... and then a train hits you. Contrary to what Bricky said, you can actually ask Tzeentch a question and he will answer you plainly and directly. However, the other faces across his form answer with the same words, but alter the inflections to change the meaning of the answer. So he'll probably tell you the truth, but also instill so much doubt in trusting him you'll do something else. Which is exactly what Tzeentch wanted, so good job, minion. As others have said, Followers of Nurgle are actually quite joyful. They view the cries of misery and pain as joyful praise for Grandfather Nurgle's gifts. Nurgle is also the god of Life, because in death and decay comes new life. Bricky was pretty accurate with why the Chaos Gods come across so evil when they're so good on the same coin. The Warp is affected by thoughts and emotions of all creatures that touch the Warp. So all the anger and hatred people feel, but don't act on, still darkens the Warp. Conrad Kurze hated his Legion. Hated their brutality and terror tactics, yet at the same time continued to spur them forward. The Shadow in the Warp isn't like a huge creature just out of sight. It's a smothering blanket of psychic noise, but only for those under it. From outside it's just silent. Like nothing is there anymore. But under the Shadow, non Psykers feel... well, essentially what they'd feel around a Blank, to be honest. But Psykers will "hear" the Synapse like a billion alien minds scratching at their minds. Before they fall into insanity, babbling phrases in a tongue too alien to be properly spoken with the human mouth. Orks is da bestest team to play, becuz Orks is da biggest, da meanest, da greenest out dere! While Orks do simply love fighting, they like fighting Space Marines the best. Dem Spes Mahrines always 'ave a good krumpin'! They're spiritual, too. They have their gods Gork, the God of Cunnin' Brutality, and Mork, the God of Brutal Cunning. The difference is that one will hit you when you're not looking, and the other will hit you even harder when you are looking. They also believe the Emperor is a god. They know the Space Marines worship him, and they always get a good fight against them, so this Emperor of theirs MUST be a god! And the WAAAGH! is a psychic field around all Orks. They're all latent psychics, but very low level. It comes into play when enough Orks in an area all believe the same thing. One of my favorite Ork Units is the Shokk Attack Gun. It generates a tunnel through the Warp into the target's armor, and they fire Gretchen through it. The lowest form of Greenskin. Literally vacuums them up, flings them through a tunnel in the Warp, letting them see all the horrors therein, driving them ABSOLUTELY insane, and they come out the other side as terrified feral animals. But if you roll doubles, that's where the fun begins. You could accidentally teleport a blast circle around the gunner to... well, not on the battlefield. Maybe inside it? You could have the tunnel too narrow, so instead of frenzied Gretchen, a slurry of gore is sprayed around. Or the gunner teleports next to the target. Or both the gunner and the target are removed from play. It's RNG turned to 11. And that's just a single unit! Orks are the team you field if you're just there for gits and shiggles.

The warp was a calm place at first. Then the war in heaven happened, which was basically hundreds of thousands of years of wasted with countless deaths. And since all entities emotions get projected into the warp, the warp got changed from a kiddy pool, into a raging ocean with gigantic waves and storms. And since w40k is the grim dark, they're aren't a lot of consistent peaceful and good emotions to balance things out. Also a minor addition : tzeetsch is also the god of knowledge and nurgle is the God of life( he also lives in a garden in the warp)

Tzeentch is in a weird way regarded as one of the most (if not the most) powerful being in the 40k universe, because he is the God of fate. For example if you were to kill him, idk how but hypothetically if you were to, it would turn out that Tzeentch dying was his ultimate master plan all along, and by some unknown impossible chain of events and twist of fate he would win in the end. So you can't really "win" against him, because even if you win, you winning turns out to be what Tzeentch wanted, and so he wins by having his plans fulfilled.

Thats a very interesting take on it! I guess in a sense its the same way the Tyranids are not really evil, they simply are a hivemind which consumes, everything, equally. It does not sound like it "hates", it just "is"
@bluwlvrine
@bluwlvrine 25 күн бұрын
@@TheRealCenturion there was a very powerful space marine psycher who saw into the hive mind and it was very much evil. Here is an excerpt from the book where this happens: >His thoughts were ground under the relentless clamour of an alien intelligence far older and crueller than he had ever suspected - this intelligence was nothing like the others; the Leviathan was stronger than the Behemoth, and more dangerous than the Kraken. Worse, he'd been wrong. There was a mind there, amidst the hunger, a true mind, a fierce self-awareness that put the torch to every assumption and scrap of knowledge about the tyranids that he'd possessed. >And that mind hated him. It wanted vengeance. It wanted him. For the first time, Varro Tigurius felt the first stirrings of fear. Such a thing could not be defeated. His will was as nothing next to that of the hive mind. It would devour him, and then Kantipur, and after that, the sub-sector. It could not be stopped. Even Holy Terra would fall Pretty scary

3:56 The Warp is bad. Very bad. There’s nothing worse than the Warp. But you can’t do without it. And yet, the Warp is profoundly, incredibly bad. Because the Warp isn’t a dimension of space and time-it’s a dimension of souls and emotions. In the Warp, the value of Pi can be ten, minus three, or undefined. All at once. In the Warp, time can flow at any speed. And in any direction. In the Warp, you can wind a cloud around a fork, put on the feeling of lightness as a hat, and roll up the echo of the first murder into a cigarette. And smoke it. In the Warp, your own desires might turn against you. And rest assured, you will lose to them. And in the Warp live entities born from the born from the strongest and bitterest emotions that have consumed sentient beings in the galaxy over the eons. These entities are sometimes sentient, sometimes not. They possess power-sometimes unimaginable power. And nothing is more desirable to them than consuming the souls of living beings. They are the predators of the Warp, the Unborn. Demons.

Thats a very good explanation! I was under the assumption that the warp was only (Really) bad because of the War in Heaven which caused such mass suffering on scale which amplified the negative entities in the warp to such a degree, it became as twisted as it currently is. I really like the way you explain it though!

@TheRealCenturion the warp is more than just the realm of chaos. There are parts of the warp that even the gods don't go near. When a human fleet travels to another planet, they expect and know that they won't all make it. Because of the warp currents and how time goes 'wobbly', it's impossible to keep a fleet together. I read somewhere that the expectation is that 10% will arrive early, 10% late, and up to 10% never seen again. So in a worst case scenario, you could take over 30% losses before you even arrive to fight the battle. But it's also why random ships from the past also occasionally appear. There is a fun story about how an old AI ship from the age of technology suddenly appeared, to predictably entertaining results.

41:41 well, bricky mentioned they are continent-sized, so how big they are? like europe or the US, would be my guess. though always keep in mind that GW is often bad with numbers and thus scale. current imperial battleships are apparently about 8km in length, so about the size of a city like edinburgh, though i think the old, pre-heresy vessels were bigger. i mean, the size of the Phalanx and Vengeful Spirit in the Battlefleet Gothic game give a good idea. 55:23 i believe since bricky made this video there was new lore of a space marine psyker being able to tap into the hive mind (it nearly killed him) and realizing that, while *most* individual tyranids are just simple animals, the hivemind itself is indeed able to feel hatred and apparently a lot of it. so tyranids also probably kill out of hatred rather than just to eat. 57:12 one of the newer Space Marine 2 missions features the biotitan. also in helldivers 2 you fight slightly less titanic ones. and yes, tyranids come from outside the milky way galaxy, but we dont know anything beyond that (i think) maybe they are just expeditionary fleets, maybe they ate up all the biomass of their own galaxy, maybe there are only tyranids out there or maybe there is worse. the only other thing we know is that they were very likely attracted by the psychic pulse from the birth of slaanesh and now the astronmicon might lead them to earth. 1:02:30 as always, when bricky comes to the orks im gonna say that his understanding of ork "gestalt" power back then was off. its the same for most people who talk about it. irks cannot make impossible things happen. in part because they are simply impossible and in pasrt because not even orks will believe these things can happen, because they know they arent possible. you cant give an ork a stick and say its a rokkit launcha. the ork knows its not. how it works is that their belief "lubricates" reality and makes unlikely things more likely, to the point they happen. all their red vehicles go faster, because they saw red vehicles go fast, so they believe it. now, when they built a vehicle, they built one that is fast no matter what, but also paint it red, because they believe in it. now you have a red one that goes faster and other orks see it and think red ones go faster. or the story about how Commissar Yarrick got a laser eye came to be likely because he heard rumors that the irks think he can kill with his gaze alone (likely commanding his troops to shoot where he points/looks). yarrick somehow got wind of these rumors and went "bet." now he has an eye that can shoot lasers. stories that didnt happen that you might hear in the future is the orks pretending to be a tank/guardsmen shouting "bang" and killing orks, that one is entirely made up by a certain message board. the other story is about orks surviving without breathing. even if it cant be definitely said thats made up, no one could ever point at a source for that story. (though in a more recent book that story was implemented in a different way by whoever the author was) 1:04:10 also to this: orks have understanding of machinery on a genetical level. most of the accounts we have of "ork weapons make no sense" comes from the imperium/mechanicus who look at it, cant figure out how it works and just discard it, because scientific research and reverse-engineering basically doesnt exist in 40k. that said, sometimes they should really not work, but thats where their psychic power acts as lubrication. someone else probably already mentioned it, but Orks/Krorks and Eldar/Aeldari were both created by the Old Ones (who lost to the necrons and c'tan). eldar as a more psychic force and krorks to be physical powerhouses. also orks and tyranids fighting is actually a HUGE issue, because orks get stronger the more they fight and tyranids evolve and become more the more they eat... 1:21:54 and as usual in these videos, i want to disagree with bricky here, because if you accept that eldar and the guard fits in terms of visual style, you should accept tau too, because its a blend between the two. guard is heavily industrial and eldar is futuristic, artisan style. tau have a futuristic industrial style. also the recent primaris space marine style that GW is pushing looks 90% absolutely terrible and hardly like the classic marine stuff, though ymmv.

The thing many don't know about Chaos is that it is a dominating force, not a harmonious one. What Chaos cultists & dissatisfied citizens of the Imperium hoping for a change do not know is that Chaos will slowly replace you until nought but a leech upon reality remains. This is exactly what happened to Fulgrim & eventually happens to all who join Chaos. The fall does not happen by accepting their offers. Tis like a drug, anyone can accept a hit or two to try it out if they have an opportunity. Like all addictions, it doesn't happen straight away. It is through continuous indulgence. The Traitor Primarchs & Legions found this out all too late or don't realise it at all. So do not be decieved; Imperial life is difficult, but at least you can be human in the Imperium. Apart from Hive Worlds & Hive cities, they operate mostly like earth between the 15th & 21st centuries. Considering that most ordinary humans focus on their work, spiritual matters & families, an argument can be made that you can be happy in the Imperium.

Ok, so Bricky kinda messed up Angron and the World Eaters in this video. Angron did not remove parts of his brain. All the Primarchs were scattered early on in their creation across the galaxy. Angron landed on what is essentially a more technologically advanced Rome. He was raised a slave and forced to fight in gladiatorial combat. When he refused to fight his adopted father, the High Riders forcefully implanted a device in his brain called the Butcher's Nails. This crude device basically deadens all emotions except for anger, and rewards the wearer with a "high" for commiting acts of rage and violence. If any other emotions starts to swell, it caused them unimaginable pain. Angron and the World Eaters are definitely my favorite faction and have a tragic story that could've been avoided if the Emperor was a better dad lol

Besides the Space Marines video other people have mentioned, Bricky also has a "Which Army Should I Start with" video, that is focused on the tabletop side of things. I would like to reiterate one of his points: if you pick an army because it is (not) over-/underpowered, the balance will shift and you will want to start something else before you get 25% of your army built. Since he did this video, Tau have probably been the worst army in the game, then best again, and I think they're middling right now. There are a few epic trailers that you could cover all at once: 9th edition, 10th edition, the Horus Heresy spinoff game, and various iterations and expansions for the Dawn of War series.

I especially like the video with Nurgle. Nugle is a guy who feels a possessive love for the sentient races. He wants to give everyone his gifts. A grandfather who wants to be the nicest to everyone he can. The problem is that his immense love is twisted, he wants to give everyone "gifts" that are total rot and corruption. But he is the only chaos god who truly cares about his servants, unlike e.g. Tzeenth, who will be happy if as a result of some machinations of his servants fall. P.S. The video with the Nightlords is awesome.

The tyranids don't really enter the warp themselves, but since the consciousness of their species is so VAST compared to most living beings, a single miind spread through countless trillions of bodies, wherever they go they effect the warp just by EXISTING. They don't seem to actively try to manipulate that though, it's just a side effect of what they are, though they do evolve creatures that channel energy from the warp, it's mostly in the form of energy or attacking the minds of beings close to them.

Eldar at their peak were practically immortal. They were reborn and kept knowledge of their former lifes. That bony look on their armours comes from wraithbone, a material described as pure warp energy given shape and substance. Since the birth of Slaanesh they're not reborn anymore. So the Eldar went and came up with a workaround. These gems they wear on their armour are soulgems that capture the soul of the one wearing them should they die. On their craftworlds these soulgems are then "uploaded" into a matrix made from wraithbone were all the souls of the dead are stored and "live". Eldar keep their conscience upon death so there are actually tasks they still can fulfill for their race for example piloting the giant wraithguard walkers. All Eldar are latent psykers. Their speed in combat comes from their ability to foresee what will happen for a fracture of a second. Eldar lore is hands down the craziest shit i've ever read. In their time they had machines that let them will everything they needed into existence, like some home appliance. At some point they created even their own gods to compensate their heavy impact on the warp. That was of course looong before their fall.

The Tau are friendly facing and the military leadership tends to be a bit naive and optimistic. The Ethereal that are at the top however are just evil, willing to do anything to advance the Tau race as a whole regardless of who it hurts. Anyone can serve under the Greater Good, but the Greater Good may require you serve a bit harder than others. For example, the Ethereals control the other castes of the Tau races, basically subspecies within the Tau, through highly potent mind controlling pheromones. Having an Ethereal around inspires the Tau, fills them with courage and if the Ethereal dies suicidal bravery to claim vengeance. The Ethereal's words are seen the best possible light and even when they are lying straight to your face, Tau have a very hard time even coming to the realization that it is the Ethereal who is in error. While the Tau Empire incorporates other races, if a race is deemed a potential problem later down the line the Ethereals attempt to get it killed off in battle as quickly as possible. Humans are a common target for this, sent to the worst warzones and forced to fight the Tau Empire's enemies to the death for the Greater Good, all while secretly being poisoned by the Ethereals with sterilizing chemicals to ensure once the battle is over the land's humanity held will eventually be turned to the Tau and the acceptable races through loss of population and eventually the inability to resist. Propaganda, diplomacy with a smile on your face and a knife ready for your back, and heavy control of information runs the Tau Empire.

Fun Ork fact: They are actually correct to follow da biggest Ork, since Orks never stop growing, and their brains grow in proportion with the rest of their body. The biggest Ork is also the oldest and smartest Ork. Honestly, even though they've lost a LOT of their intelligence from the time the Old One's created them, the Old One's really knocked it out of the park creating them to be weapons against the C'Tan, they've proven to be quite literally unstoppable. Sure, you can stop a WAAAAAGH, but there will always be more Orks and more WAAAAAGH's. Fun Ork fact number 2: Orks are a type of sentient fungus. Literally mushrooms, there are no Ork women, they reporduce by having their corpses give off spores. But think about the implications of that for a moment. First, every fallen ork creates an army worth of more Orks someday in the future, and second, Orks reproduce on a planet by fighting and murdering each other, that's why there are so many of them.

On the topic of Tau and if we would not fight each other...we would not even be in the middle ages since war is the driving factor for innovation. To develop from a primitive species to spacefaring without war would need global means of communication in the first place which would not be invented without the needed urgency which occurs during wartime. At the very least the species must not be mammals to achieve this. The reason the Tau achieved this was the encounter with "Aliens" which are the Empire of Mankind and led to unification or some such which means they were already at a stage that had some form of writing or archivation not just drawings on walls.

the 4 chaos gods are all fighting each other, putting their demons in war, in "The Great Game" where no one wanna make any other more powerful, so it's just going on and on and on, and never ending, but trust me, the chaos gods can do a LOT of damage, like when Khorne got a little pissed, and, inside The Warp, got up of his throne, grabbed his sword, swong it once and took out a whole solar system, IN THE REAL WORLD, so he can destroy the whole galaxy if he wants to, buuut, that means no more souls coming to them, and "The Great Game" would end at some point... Eldars Craftworld ships are the size of a continent, so think 1000's of km... Orks are heavy Psykers, but over the last 50M+ years they have become a bit.....simple.....so they don't know that they use Psyker energy, but they are so powerful, that when they needed a new engune for a space ship, those giant ones, an Ork took a cardboard box, wrote the word "ENGINE" on it, and put it in the engine room, AND IT WORKED, coz they "believe" it works, but really, they use Psyker energy subconsciously to make it work... the T'au are like "u wanna join us or bow down to our ways? no? Warhammer physics are tricky to explain, but the basic idea behind Warp-physics & souls is pretty well grounded (given a little suspension of disbelief). The main principle is that souls, and The Warp as a whole, are entirely made up of a specific type of pure energy. GW hasn't given it a name yet so let's call it Warp-Stuff for now. Emotion and ego are just properties of warp-stuff, the same way charge is just a property of electricity.

About the warp...everything good and bad goes into the warp...it´s just...there is soooo much more bad happening in this galaxy that the manifestations of the chaos gods are mostly...bad.

The Chaos God's are in "the Great Game" to become the strongest of the Gods and basically kill/eat the others. They will sometimes ally with each other, like they did during the Horus Heresy to deal with the Emperor or when it seems like 1 out of the 4 is getting to far ahead the other three will join up to tear them back down. But the Majority of the time they are fighting each other for Influence and power. Also Slaanesh is best described, in my opinion, is being Desire. Just Desire. Desire for food, drugs, fighting, etc. You will never be satisfied with Slaanesh as Desire cannot be Satisfied.

On the corruption of Horus all four gods worked together in a very rare moment of common goals as the Emperor was and is sort of an anti-chaos being. Daemons from the warp can be shot and killed but just re-manifest to fight again but when Big E kills one or one dies even near him it actually dies. He is one of the very, VERY few beings that can give a daemon or chaos entity true death. This combined with Big E spreading atheism all over the galaxy really hurt the ruinous powers of chaos as the more humans stopped believing in gods or daemons the less power the four got and even got hurt from the amount of disbelief in them. So they enacted a plan to fuck over Big E and the Imperium and this why even 10k years later they all three have a murder boner so to speak for the Imperium and the Emperor as all the people who now believe he is a god are sort of making it true in the warp. He is powerful enough now to scare the most powerful greater daemons and daemon princes into abject terror just from him focusing his attention toward them.

all eldar are psyker, before the birth of Slaneesh they're immortal both in body and soul, they can live as long as they want, get bore and die, their soul will go to their own "heaven" in the warp, live there until they get bore, get recarnate and repeat. Now suddenly they affraid of death =))

My understanding is that even without worship the Chaos Gods would still exist as with Slaanesh, no one knew about it till it was birthed due to the Eldar. With how the warp works since Slaanesh exists now it has always existed. It was action and thoughts that birthed/woke up Slaanesh, not worship. And so presumably that also happened with Korne, Tzzetch, and Nurgle. They were birthed/"woke up" due the things they represented. They grew more powerful during the war in heaven as the war in heaven, as far as we know of and are told, was THE biggest war in history. There must've been wars before it but never on the same scale as the war in heaven, presumably only Planetary wars, and because of the war in heaven the original three grew in power to the point that their realms in the warp grew to almost completely overtaking it. The warp was presumably still somewhat dangerous before the war in heaven, but because of it its truly a hell scape now. I went on a tangent there but my point was that wars must inherently empower Korne, change and trickery must inherently empower Tzzetch, and death and decay must inherently empower Nurgle. They, in my opinion, only bother to get followers as it gives them extra power to use in winning the Great Game.

Not all the space marines followed their Primarch into betraying the Imperium, infact the traitor Primarchs figured some wouldn't and so intentionally sent these loyalist space marines on missions that were completely intended to kill them. Some survived and managed to get to the primarch of the Imperial fists and warn him of the Traitors. This is also true for the Imperial Navy, Astra Milltrranium(?), and the Mechanicus forces that were with the Traitor Legions. As each legion had non-space marine auxiliary forces, some joined the Traitors and those who didnt either fled or were killed. Also a ironic fact, the Emperor didnt want to be worshipped as a God yeah? Well Lorgar and the world bearers worshipped him as a God, made the equivalent of Jerusalem, and when Big E finally had enough of it he had it destroyed by the Ultra marines and chastised them. This would help make the World Bearers join Chaos as they no longer saw the Emperor as being worthy for worship. And then in the end, the bible used to worship the Emperor, the one used by the Eccisarchy? It was Written by Lorgar. And he knows that fact and finds it funny/ironic.

its less that because the galaxy has become so bad that chaos gods got to their position in power they where always the fundamental parts of reality, they had their power the influence coming from realspace, the corruption coming from mortals didnt put them there but it did change them khorne is just the god of drive, of motivation, of going and doing what is needed tzeentch is just the god of hope, of inspiration, of figuring out a way around the insurmountable and nurgle is acceptance if you cant find a way out via tzeentch all these are good things, the gods give good options but any tool in the hands of man will be turned into a weapon and as humanities evil is reflected in the warp, and then the warp is reflected onto the minds of men, who then reflect their emotions into the warp thats how you end up with angels being demons

Thats a great way of explaining it! I think its not even just humanity , but im sure every sentient life must have an idea of hell to some degree, if you can understand that death is a thing, the logical fear for any thinking creature would be , what then? it doesnt even have to be in a theological sense either though. I really liked your explanation! hope you enjoyed the video!

The tau brainwash, that's 1 of the disturbing parts. It's basically the tau top 1% elites and their slaves. 2 examples, 1 is how they took a gas giants bug populace into the tau banner, despite inability to communicate, they basically fed them hormones to make them obedient, simulating the queen or something. 2nd is a story about the tau desperately defending some kind of structure in a war and they failed, the building was destroyed and then they were suddenly confused about why they were even defending it, not able to remember why that building was so important, in such a horrible disadvantaged battle instead of just prioritizing tackling the enemy the best way they could. The building was basically some kind of emitter for the brainwashing and once that was gone the hold was lifted. That aside some tau info. Their eyes can't dilate so they heavily depend on technology and they also heavily adopt anything they can from other races, be it the people, their tactics, their tech, everything, so they advance much faster. But they're also extremely naive, they tried diplomacy with orks several times until they finally realized they can't be negotiated with, they also tried diplomacy with eldar without realizing it's the dark eldar and immediately blacklisted them, including normal eldar because they don't know the difference.

Tau on the tabletop haven't necessarily been overpowered (although that's certainly also been an issue from time to time) so much as bad game design where if I'm playing an army that wants to fight in melee and you're playing Tau the game historically usually turned into "you play Tau, I get to move my models across the board and if I make it to you I win". There's not a lot of target priority to be had for a melee player when the enemy's gameplan is "sit on the board edge and shoot" and if that fails they just die. I'm a firm believer that Orks have historically been miserable to play against for the similar reasons, it's not much fun to have your opponent win simply because they get 40 shots from a unit to compensate for the fact that their average rolls are bad and then roll an outlier and just pick up half your army in one go (and similarly not very enjoyable as an Ork player to lose just because your big guns explode on turn one because that's "funny"). As an avid melee army player, one of the things I like the most about the current edition of the game compared to previous ones is that there's a higher emphasis on positioning and winning by holding ground rather than just wiping out everything in your opponent's army. There's more terrain stopping shooting units from just shooting across the battlefield at will, and there's objectives on the map that you have to hold to have a chance at winning which means that melee armies can advance up the board using cover to stop stuff like Tau getting a clear shot at them and then force the enemy to either risk getting into melee or concede the objectives. Shooting armies are still very much in the running, but now there's more of a cat-and-mouse sense to the game where you have to assess whether it's worth putting your unit in an exposed position to attack the enemy, both for melee-centric and ranged-centric armies.

1:20:36 the Tau are not “good guys”… remember this is Warhammer 40k, there are no “Good Guys” here… not even the Tau. The TLDR… you join in the greater good and become a brainwashed cuckoo species traitor. If you join them, but don’t follow their ways.. well you just need to be “re-educated”… that means a stay in one of their re-education camps… with all the dark meaning that implies. But don’t worry while there you will be given the best treatment and care. And once you leave you will fully believe in the greater good… but unfortunately it will be discovered that you’re no longer fertile. That’s ok, with all the war going on there’s plenty of Tau orphans to adopt and raise in the greater good. Or you can fight alongside those that helped you and show others of your kind the benefits of joining the greater good.
