Yeah.. i got a "little" carried away after i read the invasion of albion part and stuff. (Because thats Rome-History :3 ) I was also looking for medieval or renaissance Italy but couldn´t find good pictures :I

Well you could probably use assassin's creed ost or TV series like the Borgias, but either way it's fine. Plus even if the books are fan fiction, there still fun to read.
