The Remembrancer is another good channel that looks at the history of 40k.

40k lore is deeper than Greek Mythology. Bricky's 40k timeline is a good start.

Too many memes, not for a starter. TIMELINE of the 40K UNIVERSE by Trazyn the Infinite by Warrior Tier is better by far.

There are hundreds of factions. Those are the 4 major chaos powers (gods). There are other entities that are like gods that are just as powerful or dangerous but are not interested in the "materium" vs the "immaterium". There are hundreds of Xeno's but the major ones are Eldar, Dark Eldar, Orks, Necrons, Tau, and sub-factions of those. Chaos are demons and gladly infect corrupt any thinking being xeno or human but they're favorite is humans apparently, since the major chaos forces are mostly human/demen mix. However not all "traitor legions" completely fell to Chaos, Iron Warriors for example.

This actually blows my mind. I opened quite a deep rabbit hole 😂 thanks for sharing all this! Any recommendations on where I can continue learning all the lore?

@@DaineszBricky has really good ones, in depth but with a non serious comedic attitude. For of a more History Channel type of expose would be Lutein.

@@Daineszthe one thing to always keep in mind about 40k lore is that it is written by the “unreliable narrator” concept. ( in case the I.P. Needs an adjustment, which has occurred several times and is currently being done as we speak because of Gullimans return and the launching of the new recent Ultima Founding (primaris armor).

90 books is just Horus Heresy google is not very good at 40k records. The most accurate estimate is around 400 books, which is several years old estimate by now. And they didnt stop publishing new books.
@Dainesz4 ай бұрын
Ain't no way they made 400 books and are still publishing... Thats actually so impressive, but also it makes me feel as though Ill never have the full picture of the massive lore and story. You know what I mean?

@@Dainesz Yeah. I read 20 and still learn something new regularly.

40k isnt that deep, especially compared to other fandoms out there. for example, there are about a thousand Star Trek novels, plus all the shows and movies, but you dont hear anyone complaining about the complexity or depth of Star Trek's lore, even tho there is a lot. It mostly comes down to 2 things: how people consume, and the wargame rule books only glossing over the lore in favor of the rules. most 40k fans started with the tabletop wargame, so to them, 90 books is a lot. there are also no tv shows or films, just video games. and since the rule books gloss over the lore, it seems like there is more when there really isnt. there are whole centuries and millennia that have literally nothing going on in the lore

That would make sense, everything entertainment wise needs filler stuff at some point
