Think thats a community thing.. we often play with closed lists and probably will continue with that. will try open lists as well to get a feel for what we prefer in this system. After a while we can probably guess the items anyway…. :)

Yeah, it's a chariot now, and the Dragged Along rule stipulates that as long as it's within 1" of a unit with 10 or more models may replace its Movement characteristic with that of the unit. That's basically an illegal deployment in the video and should count as two Clanrat units instead of one.

You are absolutely right, old habits die hard. And i guess sometimes I am prone to reading and interpret the rules by intent. The screaming bell is a heavy chariot and i hope to find out a fun way play it as such :) Thank you so much for your input, it really helps us out!

Its interesting you liked 8th edition so much, surely it was more enjoyable that herohammer for example and easier than 6th but 7th and 6th... those were most demanding and most satisfying :) at least in my opinion. Great battle report with great models!

im only 20min in, but here are a couple of things you missed about orcs and goblins so far: Orc shamans have the mob rule special rule, meaning that your spells were +5 to cast, not +4. Orcs have the warband rule so they can reroll charges

Just some advice; you should've rolled the strength of the dooomwheels' shots before determining what models had been hit, or any look out sirs. as if you rolled a missfire, none of the other rolls needed to be done.

For the first failed charge of the black orcs because they got "stucked", GW has faqed that for those charging wheel, as long you dont finish your movement on your unit, it's fine you can pass through it.

i think the rule as intended is that if you can start and finish your movement without fusion inside another regiment you're fine even if you touch another regiment with your wheel. at least thats how we play it in my circle@@svebbe

Screaming bell is no longer deployed in a unit. You have to place it as a chariot and keep close to "pushing unit" Much sad. Also you no longer declare point where abomination goes. Roll dice and treat it as movement. It can only do wheel maneuver.

Sins you dont have to be 1inch away you can deploy them in a similar maner but have to treat them as 3 differen units.. movment becomes an issue tho..

the "Too Horrible to Die" rule on the HPA only happens the first time he dies. Also, doomwheel shoots at end of every shooting phase, not just the Skaven's shooting phase.

In the first combat between the trolls and the Hell Pit abomination, I think only one troll was in base contact with the abomination. that means the other two trolls would only have had one attack each, as they only could do supporting attacks. Giving the trolls only 6 attacks maximum. You also forgot the stomp attacks. both the giant and the Hell Pit abomination has stomp attacks. Stomp attacks work against everything now, even other monsters and behemoths.

Stomps do not work on monstrous creatures or behemoth. Page 196. It very poorly written and mentioned within another though. The term thunderstomp does not even need to be mentioned as it only confuses things from 8th when it was a separate rule with its own definition. The new nested rule for big things just adds AP to stomp rule then states "big things" on "big things" does not work.

Stormvermin are S3, so either they wound on 4+ on the Black orcs with Halberds, but then they don´t have a 4´save.. You can´t use shields and halberds..

At 1:29:14, the Orc player rerolled the break test into a 4. Now normally that would have been a 'give ground', but the skaven player forgot what he got on the screaming bell roll: all enemy units within 18 inches were -1 LD. so it would have been a 'fall back in good order' result instead of 'give ground'. Unless the skaven players unit strength was also more than double that of the savage orc unit. If unit strength was more than double, it would have been a flee result instead.

With linehammer being so effective and ranks not so much I am figuring that hammer units might be better off in smaller number in wide units like 14 or even 16 black orcs in 2 ranks and trolls 4 or maybe 5 wide single rank
