Just wanna throw it out there that I've been following the yogscast since before they even started doing Minecraft, and Tom + Ben are undoubtedly the most entertaining out of all of em. It's great that they're slowly ending up in more and more content.

Yeah he could have annihilated Bens army. Sure they all had great weapons but the morale debuff from attacking into the sides would have been more than enough to reck the marauders. And two thunderers could have easily killed the chosen. Maybe not an easy win considering its just dwarf warriors against chaos warriors but the could have done a lot of damage.

(one of my favourite things about these videos is that post-analysis) I reckon if he'd set up a proper ambush then the reinforcements might not have reached in time, and then Ben just could have taken each of the armies out one at a time. I thought the lure on the hill was great, defensible and also close to his reinforcements. Also when the hidden army swung into bens flank that was a beautiful..

Yeah, the hidden army was pretty good, but it seemed that be held them off for a good while with the one army. I thought that the advantage of being able to just basically pick "My melee units are just going to start basically already killing your horsemen." and other things would outweigh that.

Dwarves are slow, a human player knows it is an ambush = Ben just squares up his troops immediately and wrecks the dwarves piecemeal. Tom made the correct decision.

Ben complains about slow horde growth? Then get Tribes of Chaos! That's how you offset the negative growth from the mound of blades while also getting the upkeep discount. And for the love of Khorne get some shielded units in your army. You will need them when you finally destroy the Norse tribes and make war on factions that have actual ranged units like archers and crossbows. AND LEVEL INTO ARCHAON'S SPELLCASTING FOR FUCK'S SAKE!!!!

Is it just me, or should Tom have initiated combat ASAP, so Ben couldn't get a formation or anything? So it would be a real ambush? Instead of just sitting there waiting for the enemy to get in a formation?

Half his army wasn't deployed at the start, and Ben's troops were faster, had more armor, and better weapons that ignore armor. It would have had half tom's army smashed before the rest arrived, only to be crushed.

I just had a realization that there are only three Chaps characters that are favored by ALL the Dark Gods: Archaon, Everchosen Lord of the End Times, Morghur, the “living” embodiment of Chaos corruption, and Malagor, the Dark Omen and Voice of the Dark Gods. Kholek’s claim to fame is just that he’s the oldest dragon-ogre, Sigvald is only the chosen of Slaanesh, Wulfrik was cursed by Tzeentch (at least if I have my lore right), Khazrak is just a warleader who took on Boris Todbringer and each lost an eye, and Malekith and Morathi only ever serve their own goals, not those of Chaos.

I'm no l33t gamer, but I'd have done the ambush fairly similarly. Probably charge the "surprise dwarves" in sooner, so that they'd hit the rear instead of the side like they did. Other than that though I think you handled it pretty well, if you had charged in early with the dwarf warriors like everyone is suggesting you'd have done some early damage but they'd crumble to the great weapons. He'd have them dead by the time your other dwarves get there, giving him time to formation up, and great weapons always beat warriors.
