Those little circular bits are called tilt shields. Usually used in jousting, but some knights and other warriors would use it to signify their status on the battlefield

Awesome video as always. I started my first model today, using your techniques and I am impressed. Obviously I need to get more feel for the contrast paints, but the result is a smooth color, that was applied fast. This gives me new motivation to paint my Black Templars. I believe those things are called tilt plates? Have no idea what they do lmao, I just know people in the design studio who’ve referred to those (and those little shield things near the armpits of space marines) as ‘tilt plates’

Its basically a loose shield of ablative extra armour usually held on your left side used in jousting.
