I once had a softlock occur during the twin dragons fight. Apparently, one of the sticky balls got stuck somewhere right after one swallowed me. I was stuck forever watching a dragon choke on the great chunkiness that is Wario.

I swear the double dragons boss creeped me tf out as a kid. I saw a boss rush video by Nintendo Unity and the way the neck cracked when it came out along with how their eyes popped out and the overall puppetlike look was just really creepy to little 8 year old me

Nintendo makes weird stuff already, but Treasure, this game's co-developer, previously made games like "teenager turns into cyborg eagle and time-travels to stop the planet from blowing up" and "little girl uses her scarf to grope women with giant boobs." Wario World was doomed to be a trip from the start. (the edit of bryan dressed as wario got me, excellent work as always)

I remember as a kid I had a cartridge of Wario Land for the original game boy but I didn't have the game boy to play it. I was so allured by the mysterious game I ended up liking Wario growing up. I did eventually play Wario Land. It was not bad. I like the mechanic of gathering treasure and that affecting your ending.
