Thanks to the structure of the DS that the whole screen is split into 2 parts (the graphics is designed in this way to make people think that there is something between the 2 screens that it forms 1 complete picture I guess...) And most people just places the bottom screen directly below the top screen with no gaps...

Well, there is a premise. Most of Wario's employees (Mona, Jimmy T, Ashley, Orbulon, and 9-Volt) have quit and are working for Diamond Software, so Wario gets you to make games for him instead. Dribble and Spitz, Kat and Ana, and 18-Volt stay with Wario (for some reason), and Penny handles the tutorial. Dr Crygor doesn't do anything except make that machine at the beginning.

An idea for a Warioware story. Fiendish creatures have possessed Wario and friends and are causing trouble throughout Diamond City! It’s up to the player to clear the Microgames set up by the fiends to free Wario and crew from the possession! Each character has a different set of microgames. The final boss will be a possessed Wario, who of course has a mix of every character’s Microgames.

Mona’s games would consist of “Ancient” Microgames-stuff involving temples, ruins, and whatnot. Jimmy T’s games would be primarily sports, with a bit of dance thrown in. Ashley would have “horror” themed Microgames, like traditional movie monsters-zombies and what not. Kat and Ana would have “cursed” Microgames-games that focus on cursed items and evil spirits. Young Cricket and Master Mantis would have a focus on martial arts microgames. 9-Volt, 18-Volt, 5-Volt, and 13-Amp would have a focus on “Nintendo” microgames, as always. Orbulon’s Microgames would test your IQ and consist of tricky puzzles and riddles. And of course, “Demon King Wario” would have the traditional “Anything Goes” category. And of course, there would be two remix medleys, called “Possessed Onslaught” and “Last Possessions”, respectively.

Hey, hold on, is this game predicting WarioWare: Get it Togheter for the Nintendo Switch system? I don't think so but lemme explain! During the intro of WarioWare D.I.Y, Dr. Crygor is playing a video game shown at 0:11 or 0:13 then the game comes to life by everything going out of the game at 0:17 and in WarioWare: Get it Togheter, in the intro, Wario's game started to glitch and suck Wario and friends into the game. This reason is unknown however the intro continues with Dr. Crygor waking up realizing that it's just a dream. Does Wario would have his nightmares about himself sucked into his game or is it premonition? Lemme tell you WarioWare or Super Mario and the Mushroom Kingdom fans what happened! So, Dr. Crygor after his dream builded the Super MakerMatic 21 ( 0:30 ) and in the lab ( 0:33 ) Dr. Crygor and his Granddaughter, Penny are showing Super MakerMatic 21 then Wario talks to them about this new machine so Wario decides to have a BIG cash. So the theory is is that the intro of WarioWare D.I.Y and Get it Togheter might be unknown! What does this mean about the game come to life? Is because the premonition is about the person being sucked into the game or the fact that the bug is a mistery? This is much like how the genius Girl created the SupaMerge while the Rabbids used it to make more mayhem and get sucked into their washing machine to go to the world of Super Mario in Mario + Rabbids or What about Mario entering the Mushroom Kingdom? This is premonition or dream? We don't know the awsner! But it's just a game!

In all honesty, I feel as if this is the weakest WarioWare game. Not necessarily the worst, but the games are so weak, the graphics are poor, and the music is grating (not all though).

The game has shorter stories and worse graphics because it lets you create your own microgames. These stages act more like showcases on what you can do with the simple yet engaging Game Maker, and you can also export their graphics and music in case you are not a good artist or composer. This is an amazing title and should not be taken as a regular WarioWare, and it loses 90% of its charm if you don't play it as intended.
