Great points. It's hard to find that group with synergy but when it happends it's so rewarding and awsome.

Great video, my man. Awesome points. All of these points are massive contenders for the #1 spot, but to me honestly its being a team player. Patience and willingness to enjoy yourself when things go wrong or when you get Arma'd are the types of people I enjoy playing with. Some of my favorite milsim moments are when no one was fighting, we were just screwing around either pre or post OP or on the flight training server. Great times.

I'd counter that and say personally #1 for me is finding the right group. With the right 'group', being a team player is a natural given which just happens. It's only when people aren't immersed or are 'bored', then they don't follow milsim and break the experience. Why is it so many people join groups and do that in a milsim game? Because, to illustrate, you can find thousands of videos of hardcore Arma 3 milsim videos, count up the views, and the still won't come anywhere near the popularity of RimmyDownUnder. There are military fanatics who absolutely love different tactics of different militaries, but most just want Milsim as a tool to re-enforce the RP element and make people feel like they're living out real life versions of movies, video games etc. Which is why so many people after seeing something like Rimmy Down Under's videos, go and join milsim groups headed by hardcore military enthusiasts, and are like hey, where's the beef?

Milsim my friend, thanks for the tips. I only started playing online in August and was really lucky that I stumbled into the "right group" for me - 1st Air Assault for those interested. I've got to reiterate Viper1Zero's point - being a team player has been central to my Arma3 experience and if you can do that, they it will overcome most obstacles that you can find in the game and in the communities.

Couldn't have put any and all of those points better myself. Agree with everything you've said. ArmA milsim is all about coordinated, relatively disciplined, co-op gameplay. Just as you stated. It's not about a bunch of gun-happy people blazing away to rack-up a score ... it's all about teamwork and teamwork has a tendency to build friendships. Cheers, mate.

One of, if not, THE best video I've seen from you..💯👏🏼! Definitely a video on your opinions on 'Finding the best MilSim unit'. I personally, never have a session on ARMA 3 where I don't learn something - "every day's a School day" and the game is better for it. You just have to 'Carpe Diem' every time you play! High praise also from Viper1Zero - Respect👍🏼! Oh and 'MilSim' 😂 Peace Out ✌🏼😎

Milsim! Thanks for the great video 😁 Brand new to Arma 3 and a long time since played anything similar. Just working through the basics in single player but really enjoying the learning experience so far. Time. Yes, time, that is the rare commodity these days. Hopefully can make some to become a useful member of a unit once I'm slightly less fat fingered!

One more thing I would say is to give a group a a chance especially if they are small. If you join a group and it only got like 10 people or so maybe try an op or two with them .

Good tips. It's great to see that new players are still coming into ARMA (i have ARMA 3 APEX).Operation flashpoint Series Cold war Crisis (2001 lol) is still on my hard drive to this Day and have every updated version of ARMA out there except for Contact. (Doesn't mean I'm any good lol) It's like a old best friend. I left for a few years but am back in and really do need a group to play with. Where's the best place to search for a casual fun crew to play with? Thanx for the vid. I subbed

I will be honest, people tell you how much commitment you need to join a Arma unit and they are not lying. Some units are very loose to the point where squads don't really exist. Then there is the server I play on now where it's very organized, you have to follow instructions but at the same time you are given the time to learn as you go. People have been extremely helpful when I bring up a question.
@etnogamer70733 жыл бұрын
The idea of commitment in gaming just doesn't sit well with me. There is quite a lot of commitment in life already: job, marriage, mortgage... Commitment needs to pay. If anything, commiting to a workout program is much, much more rewarding. I prefer playing singleplayer campaign and missions. Occasionally team up with players. As realistic as it is, it is a GAME.

Playing with team is the best : yes Everybody is effective and contributes to victory : no Should we be role playing or just have a fun game ? Also yes . Also also. Arma radio chat is not about requesting exfil in the middle of the flashpoint It’s about flinging your vodnik from the cliff while singing “Long way to Tipperary”

Hey I'm 13 but I have some experience with milsims but I only have about 110 hours in arma 3 mostly pvp on koth. I do have a mic but I dont like using it a lot so if someone could reccomend a milsim group (preferably something modern and if possible, OPFOR but BLUFOR is fine) that is friendly let me know :) have a good day everyone

@@antonye7585 ACRE is more realistic as far as I know, not the most experienced with it. However, it take stuff like terrain into account. IE if you're at the foot of a mountain and so is the receiver, you're gonna have a harder time then when you're both on flat land and transmit. There's more to it and what not, but that's the most noteable for me.
@p1ker14 жыл бұрын
@@rohankamta4204 this. I've ran with tfar for good 80% of my Arma career and let's face it, tfar's easier to learn but acre has more features. The radios themselves are more complex, too, and the signal modeling n all that is more realistic, as mentioned. Acre is also receiving frequent updates unlike tfar. That being said, my unit uses acre a lot like tfar was used. To me i just have to carry two radios instead of one and set them to different ears whereas w tfqr additional channels were enough. So ultimately the differences in practice can be very minor.
