Really great look at those. That Blot has us triggered over here and after this is even higher on the list of growing soon. The walls on it were super thick and the colors are super interesting. I wonder if you took all 4, cut the tops off, put them inside each other like Russian Stacking Dolls and then ate them as one pepper? You would have the 'Cubanino Bloda' or the 'Cubanoda Blotnose'. LOL Always a sucker for the testing videos over here. Thanks for the share!

Lol, I'm liking those Cubanoda Blotnose names 😂 After I harvested the two large peppers on the blot, it is setting fruit again.

I'll take your word for it. I love grilling stuffed peppers and those Blots look like a perfect candidate for the job. Not my first year growing, but it's my first year harvesting and so far the Cubanelles take the cake as I've already got nearly a dozen nice sized ones off of a 2 foot plant, planted late even. My plan is to harvest them all as early as possible (next few days) and then hope for a second wave of flowers for the final haul. Hadn't heard of the Blot before until this video, so thanks so much for sharing it. Curious what the over all harvest comparison was, as well as the taste of later seasoned, riper peppers, compared to the Cubanelles 🤔 Many blessings, and thanks again for the helpful review- it was a well done demonstration, and I liked that you kept it simple focusing on the peppers and the sound of their crunch- mouthwatering! 🥲
@MidwestGardener Жыл бұрын
Thanks! It's been a couple of years, so it's a little hard to remember all the details since I grow so many different peppers. I don't fully recall what the ripe Cubanelle peppers taste like. The ripe blots get a little sweeter, but not a whole lot of flavor. I never let them get what I would call fully ripe. As I recall, I think the Cubanelle produced more peppers.
@Rick-the-Swift Жыл бұрын
@@MidwestGardener Nice! My theory is once you get some char on the skin, some saute'ed dices and spices, along with some savory meat in the center, and topped with melty gooey cheese, they all taste fantastic! Good to know the Cubanelles gave abundance to you as well. I'm going to try to over winter mine in a pot and hope for a jumbo harvest next year. Thanks again, and look forward to more of your videos! 😎🙏

Blot is on my list for next year. Happy to hear you like it. Will be looking around again at your other vids to get an idea how tall this plant gets.
@MidwestGardener3 жыл бұрын
This is the first time I've grown it, so I'm not sure what to expect in our garden. I've seen a couple of sites that list it as tall, and some others that don't. We will see how it does here I guess.

@@MidwestGardener Yea - I've had poblanos get 5 feet for me, yet some places state they are 2-2.5' tall plants. :)

Those peppers look delicious. I could hear the crunchy, crisp texture when you were tasting them. I'm glad that you tried them before they were ripe. They will probably be even better then. My peppers are doing well, considering all the rain we've had lately. I think I'm going to be teaching someone how to can soon. That's how well my banana peppers are doing. How do you preserve your extra peppers? Have you ever dehydrated the hot peppers? Take care 🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋

Yep, these were very crisp and crunchy. We usually freeze a lot of peppers. We dehydrate some too.

Very nice pepper review thanks for sharing. Also that should be interesting to see them at the final ripening stage to later compare taste and appearance. I Remember last seasons video with the nice Oda peppers and you mentioned one might of crossed with a slight noticeable heat. 😎👍

Thanks! I have some Oda crosses that are in their F4 generation now. I haven't tasted them yet this year, but it won't be long till I give them a try. I'm hoping I can stabilize one with nice purple color and mild heat....we will see.
