I also play Wotlk and I raid, blast,etc - and guess what, I only picked up wotlk for the very reason of using meta XD So I am thankful this is the part of another wow version and I suck it up in retail, but in wotlk DEMO all the way.

bear tank talents are low key awesome.. the raw mitigation when you get to max lvl along with new SoD gear (+stam & +armor) will let druids have huge effective HP pools, especially vs physical dmg

Druids and Paladins actually being able to be real deal main tanks without any dumb gimmicks like MCP alone makes the game ten times better. That's not even touching on the addition of Rogues, warlocks, and shamans all being able to tank. More tanks is always a good thing.

@@cococock2418 The dire need of tanks is indeed a problem. There are only 2 real tanks, warrior and druid, and druids require special gear with armor to be good. Another problem though is that most of leveling has to occur outside, and you need a dmg spec to do it. For dungeons obviously not everybody can be just damage dealer. So those who take the role of tanks and healers are doomed to do it with dmg specs. As levels progress, and there are more talents which could have been spent on healing/tanking, it gets worse and worse. Dual Spec is a solution to that, but to make it Classic-like, it should only be changeable in resting places, and eventually have 1 hour cooldown. This barrier of usage means people cannot just swap around specs in raids for optimization, and that raid leaders are unlikely to be able to plan for it.

locks have high life regen efficency at early stages as 420 life drain for 15 seconds (if u pick a talent). And 30% damage red. via soul link, and 10% phys red via void summoned /60 all ressistances via fellhunt summoned, so... at max lvl warlocks have some serious benefits

They are going to be absurdly strong but they won’t get the raw mitigation of a warrior or Druid. Soul link you say? There is no avoidance and now the healers have to keep you and the pet up.

@@blackyvertigo locks get.... 30% damage reduction from soul link, (at level 40+) 30% dodge from leg rune (idk cd on this), 10% phys damage reduction (not at lv 25) and 15% more hp from talents, in addition to everything metamorph gives (500% armor, 6% less chance to be crit), and with master channeler, gets drain life as a dot with increasing hp gained per tick instead of a channel, and, ofc, healthstones and a self revive, and can sac voidwalker for HUGE shield and instant resummon of it on (15 min cd on instant resummon, so can do it twice in one fight every 15 mins), and voidwalker can tank some of the adds itself... and deathcoil (lv 42+) and... fear... lol(?)...and curse of weakness, could seduce if really needed to instead of voidwalker

@@meowmeow9326 no block no parry no avoidance so pet eats cleave plus 30% more. Voidwalkers can’t tank shit that hasn’t been changed. Healer addons aren’t designed around targeting or doing anything with pets in classic and we have no idea if soul link is going to pass mitigated or pre-mitigation damage. Warlocks will be good group tanks but I don’t see them being on par with druids or warriors or even prot paladins. They may become the best soloing class in the game though surpassing hunters since there doesn’t appear to be any kind of damage nerf associated with being in meta. The drain life thing is interesting but even with the increased healing and talents from aff it’s not actually a very good self healing spell until the early 40’s.

@@blackyvertigo Block is negligible considering the meta is Fury prot and the shield only comes out for rare high white damage fights, and parry doesn’t come close to the raw mitigation of their stat spread. Armor has severe scaling issues in classic so theyll have comparable to plate due to diminishing returns. What they will have is %hp healing ticking with 100% uptime so their mitigation only matters so long as they can keep incoming dps at less than 10% of their hp/s they can tank literally anything. That means 1 healer will be enough for them to duo almost anything, or 2 warlocks to rotate threat. They’re also crit immune so only mechanics can offer inconsistent burst, which they can prepare for with consumables or cooldowns.

Shamans will be the go to tanks for horde in late game, they have close to the same armor as a lock, more than a bear and about twice the evasion of a warlock To put it in numbers, a shaman will be running around 7k armor in full naxx gear with the saph shield, the saph shield has 3494 armor, with the new shield mastery rune you will get 1.5*3494 additional armor at 5 stacks
