You can see the difference between the Imperium and the Tau. Humans use firepower and brute force to try to take down the enemy by overwhelming it since they simply have the numbers and have been at war for 10000 years at this point, whereas the latter still uses tactics and trys to send it a nimble force to take down the titan's weak points (the joints) after taking out its shields.
@nukclear27412 ай бұрын
Well... not exactly. The animation just... ignores... the logic that the Tau have canonically shown since their creation. They would only do this if they literally had no other option, otherwise, they'd call an Anti Titan Tigershark, which has been proven to deal with Titans effectively, to the point the Admech said "fuck this" and banned titans against the Tau unless the Imperium can guarantee air superiority.
@jurajsintaj664429 күн бұрын
@@nukclear2741 The problem with the Tau is that they are rational. 40K, or rather, the Imperium was at first (first edition) incredibly tongue and cheek and made to be horrible through impracticality and whatnot. The slave loaded ship cannons come to mind. Or space marines shaking people down for money. It certainly grew more serious as time went on, but still some aspects, such as titans, remains. The problem with titans is that the defenses don't scale up as well as much as firepower. So making a dedicated anti titan system will be way easier than making a titan. Always. The tau argument that making Titans is stupid rings true, since you don't need a titan to carry a massive gun. Especially in an age with spaceships.

Titans yes! One of my favorite things in 40k are the imperial titans. Imperium titans are terrifying to think about, even the most technologically degraded titan is an absolute menace to have to deal with. I'd imagine for enemy factions the fear goes deeper than just a massive death machine, they don't know how old it is, older it is higher chance of better technology. Sure that one warlord's shields failed and it's weapons couldn't break the fortress shields, but that other titan that's 5k years older shields barely wavered and a single salvo from it's energy weapon just obliterated the fortress lol. "Most want to be astartes, me, I want the imperator titan! Big badda boom!"

@matthiuskoenig33782 жыл бұрын
titans don't just see with their eyes you know, they have auspexes (sensor arrays*) all over their carapace.. some titan varients don't even have heads and instead have an additional weapons mount. these varients are described as 'common'. the heads are mainly used because they allow the primary crew and the rare mind-impluse-unit tech to be ejected in cases of catastrophic failure not because they are needed to see. so nope, no blind spots to hide in, not from its carapace mounted point defense lascannons and heavy bolters. (which includes mounts below and above the head on the warlord). also a warlord is not a knight, it doesn't just have a cramp pilot in a seat. it has a multistory armoured bridge. assuming you can get through its armour you might not even hit anything of importance. *this includes radar, thermals imagers, echolocators, spectrographic sensors and electromagnetic detectors (and more unlisted sensors). they can get a target lock based on heat signatures, seismic activity, motor noise, communications signals. their audio sensors can aparently detech the hum of engines and even shields in a sandstorm. so no sneaking past it, atleast not this close to its auspexes. it will detect and target lock you unless you have sheer weight of numbers (like tyranid numbers) there is a reason the Tau had to develop super large weapons to deal with titans (and then use large numbers of ships armed with them, as a single ship would simply be targeted and destroyed too easily before it can deal with the titan)

Fun fact, the adeptus Titanicus HATE the tau because they don't fight like "honorable" factions like the Imperium who simply try to overpower their enemies, or the eldar who try and fight with more grace then tact, or fight in swarms like the nids and orks. The tau know exactly where to hit every single vehicle in the 40k universe to disable or neutralize it with the least amount of effort and ammo spent. So sending a squad of like 20-30 crisis suits is extremely problematic for the Titan regardless of its incredibly awesome durability.

the problem is the titans have fast firing point defense and the ability to target lock on to a range of different sensor data includeing the humm of engines and shields in a fricking sandstorm. what you would end up with is alot of fast and hard to keep track of action, but ultimately the same result. lore accurate portrayals of 40k would be hard to make satisfieing visuals alot of the times.
