Turns 10 today! Even being dead we need some warmth from each other Had no idea this was based on Issac Marion's young-adult novel A new spin of 'Romeo & Juliet' by director Jonathan Levine unexpectedly as a revitalized, optimistic take on the play Palmer and Hoult are the central core of the story beginning an unexpected romance between the living and the dead 'R' in particular is adorable to watch only able to communicate through limited speech and we hear more of his internal dialogue The premise is a smidge corny and some stuff plot wise is skimpy but there's a likability to these two saving mankind in the most unexpected way It also still gives horror lovers some pulse-quickening spooks and paranormal comedy enthusiasts plenty to cackle about A big departure from the typical zombie fare we are used to but it remains subversive rewriting the genre itself giving a self-aware edge making lots of inverses Few stories like this exist on a particular romance of this kind yet it's refreshing to see from the undead POV The author Marion got himself out of a deep depression thanks to the source material feeling much like 'R' being isolated The movie also asks what makes being human a human being while also delivering a great message of offering hope among the bleakest of circumstances People want to try to be better and we have to learn to suck it up, it's hard to accept change, is not feeling anything better to avoid feeling altogether?, maybe learning to live and reconnect is the cure If you think about it there's even a real world parallel of a wall built to keep the bad people out and the normal ones safe For all the Twilight haters rest assured the romance isn't shoved in your face like a lot of YA adaptations 'Warm Bodies' tells us how to be human again through commentary on consumerism, narcissism, and xenophobia It's good to take a second look at fear Who says a rotting corpse can't have a conscience? What else can I say; this movie works as both a zombie tale and a modern romance

The zombies don't follow traditional zombie lore because they are supposed to represent humanity and culture. The inner theme of the Novel revolves around how zombie-like humanity has become, they show that in the beginning of the movie when all the people in the airport are on their phones, instead of talking to eachother. They "cure" themselves by becoming social again. It doesn't come off as well in the film, but The book explains a lot more of the holes that the movie leaves out.

Korey and Co-Host were seriously too "scientifically" critical of this pretty good movie.

I agree this movie was great. Co-host and Korey were just hating on the movie. I also loved how Korey tries to explain the science of zombies with a science fiction book.

Some of these reviews make me feel like it was Tony x Korey and Martin x Chris. Sometimes it comes off like the 2 duos didn't like each other off camera. The fact Korey and Martin went on to helm Double Toasted and that Chris and Brian did their own to thing is also interesting but Chris, Tony and Cargill showed up on Double Toasted so it can't be all too bad. I'm probably over thinking it but I've seen these reviews so many times over the years i guess I'm creating my own lore and headcanon 🤷🏿‍♂️

I love zombies and I do think the plot for this movie is an original idea but I fall asleep out of boredom whenever I watch a chic-flick or a romance movie so I'm not sure about this movie. /:

I f*cking love the moment they are talking about f*cking a zombie and using protection from zombie aids.
