When I went to his house and played it, it seemed pretty crappy but I didn't say because I THOUGHT that I hadn't seen its full potential. A little less than a month later, I ask him how it is. IGN gave Evolve a 9 out of 10? lol, they ripped apart the excellent Alien Isolation, but gave this shallow multiplayer game a 9!? *face palm* Well, I'm glad I did buy Titanfall last year. It taught me never to buy another AAA multiplayer game on release, especially after I saw it go on sale digitally with the season pass for around $20. So, Evolve is a definite pass for me. Great review Angry Joe, I hope you do one for The Order 1886 next!

The same thing can be said for most games whether they are RPG or action games, if you have spent 15 hours on a game I think you're in a good place to make a review generally. It is biased because this is a heavily competitive game so of course its going to be a lot of the same stuff. Its like arguing that your sick of having people fight in mortal kombat and want them to sit down and play poker or golf instead. And the game does have some good flavor story moments between characters while in the wild, certain areas or about to be dropped off from the sky. They way Joe says it makes it sound like team fortress 2 needs a campaign or its shit.

Oh its is biased, but the thing is Joe immediately tells you what his bias is and why he reviews the game so because of the acknowledged bias. That is rare, very rare.

His reviews may not work for everyone, but they work for me. The truth is there will never be any source that will review a game that everyone agrees with because it's ultimatly based on opinion. I perfer independent reviews over the mainstream ones because they have more freedom and control to be genuine. I had a feeling this game would not be that good (just like destiny) because they went overboard with the PR campaign. Joe got it right IMO and that's why I continue to watch and support his reviews.

***** I would question if you even played the game competitively because the gameplay is great and exciting of how one moment it can seem impossible to the next where you are actually breaking the defense of the latter, The value of teamwork and strategy really show out here where as the monster you need to seperate or attack them all at once in hopes of making some permanent damage, and depending on who you're fighting changes your tactics completely and where perseverance in the face of hopelessness can prove fruitful. Joe had trouble with a AI monster and the AI monster is complete shit to anyone who can actually play the game, and the way he wines about hanks(support class) orbital barrage knocking ppl away from the location, this is a complete noob argument because he just isn't used to the ability, its incredibly powerful and takes predictions to be used effectively or can be used to deny ground to the monster making the possibilities for it very strong and obviously, if such a thing didn't at least push you back it would be overpowered. And again the story is for flavor, it was never meant to be something on the par with "The last of us PS3 or Gears of War xbox 360" Why doesn't Team fortress 2 have a story? And the comments and story you do get are very genuine with the characters giving their takes or experiences and all are very diverse and come from very different back grounds.

It may not be paid for so he says good things. But he is telling you about it through his personal experience with the game and what he found out while playing it. So the point will be honest. But from how he gauges it. If you ask a different person who saw the same exact things and had the same complaints. They might say. It was worse than joe said. Or better. It really depends on how people gauge the game. Example I agree with him on every point on destiny. When he made that review. The difference is I still find it very playable and worth going back to from time to time. Heck. While I've already done them many times. I still find the raids in destiny some what fun. That's the only reason I still play it too.

JeXoLucs- 1999SHOCK Dying Light is cool. The be the zombie mode is almost painfully well balanced. I've found it difficult taking down just one survivor, and yet I can still kill off an entire team if I get lucky. The DLC sucks though, and that's where the cash grab is. You can get useless weapons and a skin pack, or a new map where you can do parkour challenges all for a bow. If the bow was an early game weapon, and it was an alternate way to launch explosives or something like that, then it would be alright, but requiring you to go through the insanely difficult Bozak horde challenges make it so it's not worth the bow. At least they made the cash grab in non-essential DLC, and didn't try to hide content behind a pay wall. So I'm not sure if that's a win because the game is fun without the DLC or a lose because the DLC could have been awesome if they had put more time and thought into it.

A perfect example of a game not matching its price. If it was a free-to-play game, or a $20 game like Joe said, it totally be worth it. But for $60, no thank you. But I need a who, what, where and why otherwise I'm just running around with my thumb in my ass without purpose. But you are right. Some people don't even need a story. Some people are just in it for the online. But the online is what holds this game up and this online is average at best. You can but only have a few buckets of fun with this game before you've seen the entire damn thing. Yeah, it doesn't matter if it's paid or not. It's still DLC. Difference is if it was free no one would care. A product is something that provides function and has been painstakingly designed so it delivers not only on that aspect but convenience, aesthetics, cost and all other facets that maximizes the general consumers' experience. The color blue is something so basic, so rudimentary that it should just be included in the game the first place. It's not that I'm denying the seller's freedom of selling it, it's the audacity that they put it up for sale in the 1st place that makes me uncomfortable. The color blue while offers visual value it should never amount to 2 dollars when the user has already paid 60 dollars for a(n) (incomplete) game. It's like asking for steak at a restaurant and being told that the default is well done and having it cooked any other way would cost extra. Sure you can choose to not buy it or eat your meat cooked well done all the time but the fact that companies are doing this means ppl are spending money for it and dare I say being exploited. What if your friend was spending 50 dollars to unlock every single color skin? Your child spending another 100 on top of the 60 you gave him/her? There's a day gonna come when you can't even name your characters anymore, it will always being either Mary or Tom and you have to spend 5 bucks to change it to something you prefer.

To me this seems a LOT like Guns of Icarus Online, in that the game is pretty damn great when you got two ships going at it with crews who communicate, but the game totally breaks down when you try to play in a pub match with people who don't have/use mics, and it has no other single player content. Obviously the biggest difference is that Guns of Icarus Online only costs like 20 dollars, with some cosmetic DLC thrown into the mix.

Single Player A single player mode which tackles the different hunter's story, they alone will be played, no assistance, maybe like an alien version of assassin's creed, either they track down monsters, observe, etc. Single player mode will be an open world scenario, story is based on different characters, that means no repetitive story, for example, Kala, the new DLC support hunter's story will revolve around observing and studying the monsters while fighting her own demons, she can have her own laboratory on the middle of some sort of jungle, for each successful quest means more upgrades for her base 2. New Monster A new monster that revolves around the idea of psionics, this psychic monster's abilities allows it to - control or posses a hunter in a long range - raise a kinetic barrier for added armor - stun all lifeforms in a vicinity with a mental blast - hallucinate makes hunters unable to directly point their weapons at the monster But wait! This monster is stationary , it also does not have any attacks on its own, it's transverse allows it to 'die' and let its spores fly out of the area, it needs to posses wildlife and lure it to the monster, the way it will navigate the area is through astral projection, good luck finding this one 3. Allow a new feature for hunters to enter vehicles Make it look like Jurassic park, allow hunters to utilize vehicles, be it flying or roving, but be warned, this is a double edged sword, if the vehicle is destroyed, then most of the hunters inside will be incapacitated 4. New Expansion Pack Why limit one's self in the ground? Why not the deeps sea or the skies?

And I'm not saying I agree with angry Joe just because I thought the game suck too, but the fact that I can't rate a f2p type game as a AAA game that has a AAA price tag with over 100$ of dlc on release day. Taxtro I know, but it's the closest comparison I could think of. Both focus on hunting giant, badass monsters with up to 4 people. Of course, MH4U has a single player mode, weapons and armor that are earned by the player rather than bought, and free DLC released on the first Friday of every month for the next several months. Plus it's cheaper and for a cheaper system. I can live without controlling the monster if I get all this instead.

Point being, I "love" how this year started with Dying "6/10, wait for a sale" Light, Evolve, The Order and what's next? MKX? Yeah, since Injustice and MK9 were a little bit better than "fucking bad" and they've already locked a character behind pre-order DLC, there is no faith to be had. Before anyone asks, locking characters like that in a game that aims for tournament play, fuck you, it's undefendable, go away.

They are all over the place. Just for starters Maggie does not fall through the map that was in Beta, and was fixed. I've played the game every day since launch and have never seen Maggie do that. Why would he show that in the video? Pretty shoddy game coverage I must say.

Evolve before release: Sounded really good Then turned literally all of its content into DLC Evolve after release: Lets give the wraith an attack that boosts its damage and boosts it's attack speed by a literal 1000%, and give it an ability that allows it to duplicate itself so now it does 2 times the damage and does 2 times more DPS..... Evolve died thereafter.

People have forgotten to judge the game as the game; they are blinded from the game by the company it is developed from and how they run things instead. When people defend a game from bad reviews, it doesn't mean they like how companies cash grab, but because the game is actually good, if you are blinded by that fact then I'm sorry, you'll never be a good reviewer ever again Joe.

The Forest, No Man's Sky, MineCraft, and Space Engineers are all better than the biggest AAA titles out there. Some big corporations are even trying to copy indie developers, making the exact same game except for double the price and contains microtransactions. An example is Sony's ripoff of DayZ known as H1Z1.

James George MineCraft is owned by Microsoft so it isn't indie. No Man's Sky though looks amazing. You forgot Star Citizen which looks even better. Hm, lot of space games.

The ideas behind this game had so much potential. The world building (when you get the right hunters together) was very interesting. with the DLC characters there's even more fascinating world building (not worth buying, especially now that they killed the online play and bricked the pc version. just look up youtube videos, namely Caira and Kala and Lennox.) Basilisk soldiers, Lazarus men, Megacorp. named Hub, and much more. bits of the dialogue make this game feel like a tiny piece of a much bigger plot. few bullet points with hunter dialogue: caira and Cabot: Reports of these monsters attacking other worlds. confirming that these monsters weren't on Sheer originally. Caira and Kala: Kala spliced herself with monsters dna to help her understand the monsters. sometimes when she speaks (like when in a downed state) she does not sound like herself. She cracked the genetic code using a formula best known for FTL drives (formula was made up for this game). Caira (forget who else): The eggs aren't actually eggs, they just spawn a monster in a split second in case of emergencies. They are actually energy collectors. something else we haven't seen yet left these "eggs" behind. something is allowing these monsters to spread rapidly. They also appear to be "engineered" not natural. In fact, Kevlar was found in some of their scales, implying they are attempting to adapt to bullets. Plus more: These and more sound like a small piece of a much bigger campaign. One that if a sequel we're likely never going to get takes advantage of all the little details mentioned in these conversations, it could be awesome! sadly, it was squandered by a greedy publisher. (GEE, DOESN'T THAT SOUND FAMILIAR?! almost like its a common occurrence.) Its a shame, the core gameplay was fun, but clearly was not nearly enough. Evac. needed to be a side mode, not the substitute for a campaign. You had a lot of good ideas here Joe. BTW: mistake: you emphasized Bucket's "No one seems to know" and you said "Didn't these idiot colonists notice them. . ." Bucket immediately said after that "They are likely not indigenous (interrupted) to sheer." so, No, they weren't there in the first place so the colonists COULDN'T know. So much wasted potential for this universe. shame what happened to it.
