If im correct with my rotax knowledge, that engine has alot of oil in the engine that it needs to burn off. Ik its OK but if the fuel is mixed with oil then i can see that happening

What's that device above the exhaust port?

Power valve? It opens at different revs depending on what you set it at for either top end or low end. It's basically a gas flow valve allowing a little extra performance
