For me the key difference between Warmachine and other wargames is that with other wargames I never feel this intellectual satisfaction of finding a creative and complex solution to a seemingly unsolvable situation, something other players may not see, but you came up with and they say "Wow, I would never think of making that play" and you think 'Damn, I' m smart as hell!". :D Moving from GW games to Warmachine was like moving from playing Snakes&Ladders to participating in chess competitions.

You forgot to mention for New or returning players to Not buy any mk3 models at the time because no one knows if you can play the models in prime and/or legacy. Whould be a bummer if you buy a bunch of models to play prime to realize That they didnt made the cut.

Is my Retribution of Scyrah army no longer apart of the game? Only asking because i dont see alot of the familiar factions for sale on the website for MKIV. Did privateerpress mention if any factions were being discontinued?

Hi there! Retribution is still in the game and considered a Legacy army. They can be played both in the Prime and Legacy arenas. However, Legacy models are no longer being produced by PP.

Sure thing! The current edition of the game, MKIII, features mechanics and unique models that can create a negative play experience for factions playing into certain armies. For example, if you are playing a Rhullic army aka Dwarves, your access to the ability "magical weapons" is extremely limited. This can make it almost impossible to remove certain enemy key pieces in the game. Other difficult match-up examples are, factions that have limited tools to deal with armor cracking, the ability tough, rough terrain, gunlines or recursion. The introduction of Command Cards, Warjack/Warbeast loadouts and the Spell Rack, will help give armies additional tools to address these types of mechanics. We believe in future gameplay, MKIV will balance out some of the current issues regarding matchmaking we are seeing in the current edition.

MKIV is picking up a lot of steam here in the northeast, USA. We just came back from a 14 person Steamroller this past weekend. Lots of events kicking off several times a month :) Have you looked at the Brinebloods in the app? They have some really neat rules and interactions. Their light beasts are very good.
