Enjoyed this battle report despite the audio issues. In particular I liked the post-game thoughts, I wish more batreps in general (and yours as well) would do this. Overall well done, thank you for keeping it up!

Apologies, my Mic is having feedback issues at the moment, so the volume is quite low on this video, please make use of the closed captions. Link to Warmaster Revolution: warmaster-cz.blogspot.cz/2017/07/warmaster-revolution-v10.html

Love the vids, I'm not into Warmaster yet but I love the channel. Also I notice you guys have played Epic before, there isn't currently anyone really making videos for Epic. That would be really nice to see. Best wishes.

Maybe I am wrong but I think that you cant summon a unit of skeletons there because it generates a new combat. they should be placed maybe un the other flank or along the charging unit. I am learning how to play and I have only played against vampire counts :)
@iainmstanding3 жыл бұрын
The knights combat or the peasants combat? The current rules for the spell say you have to place the skeletons so they fight or support in the combat. And all units that are supporting are included in combat under revolution rules. So the rear rank of peasants is eligible as a target because they support the front rank of peasants and are therefore in the combat. The extra knights get drawn in by placing the skeletons in contact with the knights already fighting. And the knights kicked the skeleton's bony butts! Bad move by me but I think it was legal under the rules for raised dead.
@yoye1013 жыл бұрын
@@iainmstanding yeah, I mean the peasant combat. I fyou placed behind the supporting unit you will generate a new combat, the one from the chagers and one between the the supporting peasant unit and the raised skeletons. I think that you placed well the new skeleton in the knight combat. In my opinion you can involve the supporting enemy unit in a combat but whithout generating a new one, but that is what I understand from: Raise Dead - Q - Are there any other restrictions in placing a raised unit of skeletons into combat? A - Actually there is one. A raised unit cannot be placed so that it would split a combat into two separate engagements. This typically happens when a unit of infantry supported by another unit from behind is charged by a undead unit to the front and a new unit is raised so it only touches the supporting enemy unit. Thanks for your answer

I'm curious...how is the balance between the traditional original armies, and the "newer" factions (which I assume are primarily fan made)?
@iainmstanding2 жыл бұрын
Balance is very good as unit types are broadly similar. There are no broken armies in warmaster. At the recent grant tournament in the UK a lot of goblin armies placed very well despite being perceived as an underpowered army. It is more a question of player skill and experience with an army, not about building the ultimate list.
@LoveBagpipes2 жыл бұрын
@@iainmstanding I noticed the price for a unit of undead archers increased from 35 in the rule book, to 45 in the "new" rules...is there a reason for such a big jump (nearly a 30% jump in points)
@iainmstanding2 жыл бұрын
@@LoveBagpipes yes, 35 pts was too cheap and tournament players started spamming cheap archer units which affected the meta. Archers were inflated in cost to prevent this spamming, they are now slightly overcosted in my view but still effective for the pts.

This game looks awsome,where did you get the miniatures ?
@iainmstanding5 жыл бұрын
As the game is no longer supported by Games Workshop, you have to get your miniatures from independent manufacturers or look on eBay. There are plenty of companies that do historical and fantasy armies at Warmaster scale (10mm) such as Pendraken, Magister Militum, Callistra, Black Gate Miniatures and Polar Fox.

@@iainmstanding Oh and by the way would you be able to play this in 15mm ?
@iainmstanding5 жыл бұрын
Yes you can play with miniatures of any scale provided the base sizes are 20 by 40 mm per stand.

Thanks for the report, great to see! Just one question though, can the same spell be cast more than once each turn? I thought it could only be cast once per turn (I'm a warmaster noob though)
@iainmstanding6 жыл бұрын
Each wizard can attempt to cast one of their spells every turn. A unit can only be affected by one spell per turn. So provided you target different units with your wizards they can cast the same spell once per wizard per turn.
