The old builder was SO much better... I miss being able to build a body and then see what it looked like with different pickguards and pickups.

Nice overview. Warmoth's selection of options can be overwhelming. I wish Warmoth could show a virtual completed guitar with body, neck, pickups, and finish. It would assist potential builders in visualizing their finished project.

Our license agreement with Fender prohibits us from doing that.

Next update please make the filter non-sequential. In the scallop example, make it so you can select scalloped first and that greys out other options. Also - greyed out is better than disappeared, especially where customers don't know about the precursor conditions. Have your web dev look at car company sites for examples - you choose a different stereo and it tells you you can no longer have the sunroof, it doesn't disappear the option for the stereo.

Fender puts Floyd Nuts on headstock adjustable truss rods. Why can't you guys do one on Vintage/Modern?

Because our necks aren't constructed like Fender's. This vid talks about it: kzbin.info/www/bejne/f2KmgpeQq7CprpI

Would be nice to have in a telecaster goldtop with binding, the option for wood color/clear finish on the back.

We can easily do that as an off-menu option if you give us a call.

Given that many options are available only on Modern construction necks, it would be great to have a “no side adjust” option. Or just get rid of it altogether.

Modern necks with tiltback headstocks adjust at the head without a side adjust.

Great info. I'm still trying to figure out what options in the neck builder that allow you to choose a painted neck to match the body.

That's not available in the builders, but we can do it as an "off-menu" option if you call in.

Nice video and helpful for those new to choosing options. I have 5 warmoth bass neck and love them with one being around 25 years old. One question. Four of my necks are exotic woods as i love the feel of raw wood and how the wood ages. My Padauk neck with ebony fretboard my oldest and favorite.. My question is with the oily nature of some woods, what glue does Warmoth use to attachthefretboard? Thanks.
@zachcass73388 күн бұрын
Maybe you should have a chart somewhere to show the conditional logic options/choices only available with certain selections
@warmoth8 күн бұрын
Impossible to graph it all out. The possible combinations are in the trillions.
@Robstafarian4 күн бұрын
That would be extremely complex. The best method to work with the builder pages is to work from the top to the bottom, stopping to click the links for more information before continuing.

3:00 I just checked: on a Tele Body at least you obviously *can* have Binding without a Lam Top, you just can't have the Accent lines. 😳 This is by the way also what the description page on body binding says. That you need a lam top for the Masked Accent Line (and you need it for the "Laminate Accent line", for obvious reasons... ). It doesn't mention any restrictions on Binding, though.
@warmoth8 күн бұрын
Good sleuthing! Yes, binding is possible without a lam top on flat top bodies only. Light and dark accent lines require a lam top because you're physically sandwiching a piece of wood between the core wood and the laminate. No lam, no sandwich.
@schmoemi33867 күн бұрын
@@warmoth Ah ok! I retried and I realized that now the builder doesn't let me choose binding if I have the forearm contour ticked off. 😅 So you're referring to "flat top" in the sense of "no body contour on top"!? So, if I chose a body shape where the forearm contour is standard (e.g. a Strat body) I am forced to choose a lam top if I want binding, since this isn't a "flat top" then, technically. 🤔

@IronLordFitness5 күн бұрын
I was looking at the available bodies but could't find the one that I want. As a result I spend months and months waiting for the perfect body to be in stock. All I want is a lightweight one piece roasted swamp ash (or alder) stratocaster body. Is there a way you still accept these kind of "not so custom" orders ?

You can order that as an "off menu" option any time by calling in.

Why can't Warmoth offer binding with a 24 fret neck?
@fromquake8 күн бұрын
Because the neck wood doesn’t follow the fretboard. Probably a bit more difficult to get the binding to sit right on the tongue from the 21st fret to 24th.
@schmoemi33868 күн бұрын
*Finishing* is also an issue here. And you obviously dropped clear backs... 😢
@warmoth8 күн бұрын
Clear backs are still available any time you have a lam top. That's the way they have always been.
@schmoemi33867 күн бұрын
@@warmoth Mh. The builders seem to think otherwise. For the last... well, 12(?) tries or so, they won't let me choose "Clear" for the back. Sometimes just one option, when I was extremely lucky I got "Black" as an extra... 🤔
@warmoth4 күн бұрын
For the clear back option you have to choose a lam top.
@schmoemi33864 күн бұрын
@@warmoth Yess! Plus I must not choose binding or another edge decoration (except "Masked Accent Line", as I understand this can only be a thing with a complete "Clear" finish... it is selectable, though!). -> If I do that "Clear" as Back Color disappears. Then I'm left with (Burst-over) and, if I'm lucky, "Black" / "Black(Burst-over)"... 🤔 It seems to vanish also with certain selections of lam tops. 3A or 5A seem to also narrow down the possibilities for a Back Color.
