@@Nataton-cg8zo It's a good film because the story compliments perfectly with the original Blade Runner from 30+ years ago. And there aren't any weird contradictions between the two (think of how the stars wars prequels contradict the original trilogy in a few ways). The acting is fantastic, the action scenes were stellar, the cinematography & special effects were excellent, and the soundtrack really blew me away. I could not find fault with anything in this film. Of course the younger generations will have a hard time sitting through a slower paced film that is over two hours long. This isn't another marvel film, thank god! Blade Runner 2049 is a film that requires you to actually remember the original Blade Runner and make a connection between the two films. It does require a little bit of thought, it's not just mindless entertainment like a marvel film.

Holy... There are no words that I can use to even begin to describe how amazing of an experience this was. For the longest time I've always loved the cyberpunk genre. I finally stuck my thumb out and decided to watch the original Blade Runner a day ago, I instantly fell in love with the film. I found out that there was a sequel, and keeping with the mentality of sequels being severe downgrades on their previous, I thought it would be underwhelming. Boy was I wrong. Immediately, the atmosphere struck out so wildly to me. The first scene, establishing the amazing yet familiar world of Blade Runner. This movie is a cinematic masterpiece and an absolute marvel. I wish I had heard of this sooner.
@JOHNAPRIL1232 жыл бұрын
The first sequence is one of the most shocking scenes about the future that I've ever seen. We all expect the cities of a dystopian future to be horrible places. But the countryside of the future being turned into a toxic protein laboratory was not what I was expecting. I remember when I first saw this in theaters being so disoriented by that initial shot from the top of the tower. I couldn't tell what I was looking at. The beautiful flicker of the music right at the moment the camera passes over that tower serves as an ironic foreshadow to 2 hours of magical brutality.

So after all the mystery Deckard is a human after all, Rachel was modified to be able to give birth ("Rachel is an experiment, nothing more") Harrison Ford yet again plays the abandoning father that his son has to search for the "truth". He is the key to the future this thing that can "bring down the wall that will start a war". Leto's character can only "make so many". Does anyone feel that the fight scene in the downed spinner was a little over the top? Also, I found LA to be too clean compared to the original Blade Runner depiction. Perhaps this is intentional. Not sure. I definately enjoyed the movie and thought it built on the original very well. Also, did anyone here who read the book 'Do androids dream....' feel that this new film better captured the feel of the book? All the abandoned landscapes and deserts and occasional living creature kinda reminded me of some of the Mercerism visions described in the book. As well as the second guessing whether one was a replicant or not. Actually, I'm kinda let down that they didn't do more to expand on that. I thought Mercerism and the emotion-altering mood organ would have added some more depth.

People with short attention spans won't enjoy this movie. If you are one of those people that likes "light" movies and not complex stories that pay attention to detail rather than just watching it and not thinking about anything. Then.. This isn't the film for you. On the other hand, if you love a rich, deep and compelling story that immerses you within the universe. Then it's a masterpiece. My thoughts on this movie, is that it's one of the best sci-fi movies made in a VERY LONG time. It's 10/10 for me, but it's not for everyone.

SUPER TOASTER Sorry, but i just cant take your answer seriously. I dont even know what you mean with what you wrote, but if your implying that i think im better or more intiligent then other people you're very wrong. I was simply saying that people with short attention spans won't apperciate the movie and enjoy it. At least, in most cases.

Nonsense, many movies have deep rich and compelling story and are very interesting and draws you into the story , BUT this movie is just not interesting - the pace, the story telling, the plot, just sucks bad, i give it a 2/10 at most

It is INSANE how polarizing this film is. As far as I am concerned, 2049 is the Terminator 2 or the Godfather part 2 of Blade Runner sequels. I couldn't dream of a better sequel. It's also one of the very best standalone films that I've ever seen.
@unholydanger7 жыл бұрын
Rain SIlverlight -- I urge you to try Ghost in the Shell (2017) and Total Recall (2012) and see for yourself how good they are from this trash, dont just give this movie praises where it's not due just because it's a so-called a "Sequel" to a "legendary film" , ... The prequel was so called "legendary" because in the 80s technology wasnt able to produce those effects but they made it and wowed many people... BUT in today's standard, NOT ANYMORE DUDE . You cant call such trash "legendary" anymore, you cant stick to the 80s storyline and pace and get praises from people of today. SO dont praise it just because of the prequel's name

Villeneuve just absolutely smashes it! just watched it for the 3rd time! Holy christ its a masterpiece, so true to the original! But so ground breaking! Cerebral, Visceral, emotional! The juxtaposition of the characters and And the role reversal! Brilliant truly brilliant!

And funny thing is - the fact that this was a flop is a good thing. Othervise, we'd have a brand new franchise on our hands. And artistry would've left the building pretty fast. We'd have flying-car-chases and robot armies climbing the buildings and fighting on the airships and the airships crashing to the ground with robots fighting on them, etc.

Um.... Blade Runner is a franchise. Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep? was a book turned into the original Blade Runner film by Ridley Scott. There have been several sequels in book form. Graphic novel spin off and a point and click adventure game on PC ( supposedly being rereleased ). If you watch the sequel closely you will see a marine ship ( near the sea wall. Joi is looking at it from the skimmer ). Ridley Scott has linked Blade Runner and the Alien universes together ( not everyone agrees it's the right thing to do but.... )
