Personally, I used to dislike Maria Callas before. But when I opened my ears to her voice and listened to her studio recordings over & over again... I learned to EMBRACE her. By just listening to those audio recordings, Callas is a totally different artist. She acts out what she is singing, even I cannot see her act. I am a Renata Tebaldi fan but after such education about Maria Callas, I am a fan of both , Callas & Tebaldi. They are 2 different women...2 different voices....2 different cultures....2 different artists....2 GREAT SOPRANOS....

I think that Maria Callas is the most ideal Tosca in opera history. She possessed an exquisite voice with superb intelligence and artistry.
