I was in 5th grade when I first heard this song. I just moved into Canada, didn't know a lot of English and certainly didn't know who Eric Clapton was at the time. But great music has no cultural or language barriers. Though I didn't understood any of the words (except the "it was you"), I was drawn by the beautiful guitar/wind serenade and heartfelt vocals. I would get so excited whenever this song comes on the radio. 20 years later, this song now has a whole different meaning.... Eric Clapton's voice is pure soul, and his guitar is liquid gold. True classic.

This is really a beautiful song to listen to..Everytime I listen to it, I always think about growing old with that one and only in my life and the more I listen to this the more I feel this song within the depths of my heart and makes me feel so comfortable and feel so much at peace whenever I'm with my fiancee when I know that the world is hectic and chaotic. I took the time after the divorce to grow and learn from my mistakes in that relationship , and learn who I was (still learning, lol). Now I have someone special who treats me better than I could have ever imagined, and she is alone and miserable because the side piece left her. The divorce still hurt like a bastard, but it was the best thing that ever happened to me. My only regret wAs that I wasted so much time trying to make it work. It hurt me and it hurt her, and I hate both of those things.
