How does the Ancient of Days give a crap about the Gregorian date? Did the portal open at a different time when we were on the Julian Calendar. Not to mention, 9 is only the "end" if you're on a decimal number system. What about a hex or binary number system? The end would be a 1 in binary before you flipped back to 0. F would be the "end" of cycles if we were on a hex counting system. These portals open and close based on our Gregorian and base 10 number system we have today? Seems ridiculous to me.
