The rain on Borneo can be a different animal, coming from Tornado Alley in the U.S. I thought I was prepared, but they still surprised me. It is beautiful when you are under cover, though. Also the ingenuity, even in tiny villages, always impresses me. You can get most things fixed for pennies on the dollar.

Yes, I am a Malaysian from KL and USD20 to fix your iPhone 7 for 3 hours spare parts and labour is cheap. I am also using iPhone 7. Fair price should be RM150-200, USD40-50 depending on what part they changed. Did you witness the Royal Wedding where the son of Sultan Brunei got married? It’s a very grand 10 days affair. 🏍️💨

Revenge of the Rain! Fry that phone. Next week, episode two. We will find out how much fish (Koi) is in the KTM genes. Will they swim or will they sink! That is what everyone wants to know. As always, a great video of a new place and the various challenges you face and overcome. Beautiful background music and never overwhelming in volume as too many other video makers have. Excellent McGyver work on the rear rack Tim! And I wondered if you had a cheap back-up phone for navigation. I've never bought a dedicated GPS like a Garmin because I use an older cheap phone for nav work. Losing or killing a $20 phone doesn't hurt and keeping the good phone safely tucked away just makes sense to me. Sweating in the heat wearing rain gear sounds miserable but so is getting soaked and freezing! I'm quite comfortable here watching your video! Thanks for sharing the adventure with us.

Hey folks. Usually the iPhone will shut down its charging port if humidity is detected. Turn it off. Use some sort of gentle heat source ou a hair dryer held a bit away from it. Once it dries out, it resumes charging. I find the if you get some pretstick or even chewing gum. Press it around the cable into the port to make it water tight. So even if water penetrates the case, it still doesn’t get into the charging port. You could also get a dedicated weather proof gps. I use the the bmw navigator 6 which is essentially a Garmin. I do use my phone to find places or gas stations or whatever without touching my main navigation path set in the gps. If it rains, my phone is taken off the Xgrip holder and kept protected.

Good tips! Thank you! We definitely prefer the old phones rather than Garmins and the like. They are a lot cheaper, and have multiple uses. This was the first time it crapped out on us, and with your advice and tips, hopefully the last! Thanks again!

Hey Tim, maybe there should've been a third thing on your shopping list. 1 - phone fix; 2 - a rack for the back; and 3 - A PAPER MAP!!!!!! I understand, that being children of the tech age a paper map can be scary (folding them is difficult), but they don't need charging, laminated maps are water proof and they give a bigger and more detailed picture of where you're going. Just a thought!
@2UpAndOverloaded9 ай бұрын
😂 trying to find street names is nearly impossible. But we always can pull over and just ask where the nearest big city is and be pointed in the right direction. But trying to find a specific hotel using a paper map would be nearly impossible.

There is a very simple hack to unsmelly smelly boots: Salt water! Bacteria make the stinking substances. Most of the bacteria can't handle salt, so washing your boouts and then rinsing them with salty water, ocean water salt level is perfect, is a good measure! With this method, I managed to unstink several pairs of sneakers that had taken on really bad smells. With leather boots, a good rub with leather grease will be due after that, but that should be it.

Sarawakian terkenal dgn kurangnya pengetahuan agama lain selain kristian. Ego nk belajar takut di convert.. belajar jer pun .. buat research bila Bday jesus.selebihnya buang perasaan asyik memyalahkan orang lain kenapa maju kalau kamu asyik minum kalah orang putih.

😂 and if you don’t cut them down, you can use a tiny flathead screwdriver to take them off and reuse them! And I hate cutting myself on the sharp little plastic edges after I snip them off. I somehow always manage to make them into small little scalpel knives 😂.
