arre bro the pipe you touched is the water drainage pipe which from the base of the tank goes all the way down near the chain to drain the water deposited over the tank cap groove after rains or washing. as it opens near the chain it gets blocked due to which water starts getting into the tank and then to the carburetor due to which bike starts missing. permanent solution is to shorten the pipe or to get weld a thick pipe to the base of the tank.

I Have Bought My New Thunderbird On Jan 25th, I Am Facing A Major Problem With It, That The Bike Stops While It Is Running. And It Happence After Every Single Kilometer, After Asking The Service Center Guy, He Said He Doesnt Know Anything. But He Daubt That It Can Be A Vent Hole Problem Of The Fuel Tank. And He Was Right, When The Bike Stops If One Open The Lid Of The Fuel Tank And Again Close It The Bike Will Run A KM More, Again You Will Have To Repeat The Process. Even He Doesnt Have A Permanent Solution Over It.

There was vent hole in bs3 tank caps. Now it doesnot have. The holes near the cap on tank itself is for water drainage. Keep it open or else the gap around the cap will be filled with water. There is a vent hole inside the tank and pipe from it goes to charcoal filter and from there to carb.

I had the same problem. The service center people offered the same explanation. They said the problem is due to overfilling, and will resolve after I run it for a few km. I rode it for about 35 km the next day, but the problem persisted. So I took it back to the service center. They solved the problem, and told me that the misfiring was in fact caused by a problem in the spark plug cap, and the problem went away after replacing this part. I was not charged, as the vehicle is still under warranty. Hope this helps.
