I disagree, it’s the same as off piste skiing. You don’t follow a trail just because it’s there. If you do and you find yourself out of your depth, you put others at risk trying to rescue you - it happens all the time due to foolhardiness, you must know what you risk getting yourself and, perhaps more importantly, others into.

Having off-roaded for the last 15 yrs, videos of “hills” are never even close to what the real hill is like! I’ve had a few scares like that, one made me take a break for just about a year as I had just had a daughter and lost a friend the year before on a similar hill, definitely a gut check! Glad you guys made it out and kept the rubber side down!

That was not what I pictured when they said Lexus SUV. Then he shows up and the vehicle to be recovered looks as capable as the recovery vehicles. Someone should plant a bunch of trees and rocks across that road, just erase it as a road. It's dangerous to even walk up, you fall over and you could be rolling to the bottom of the mountain. And you know it's even steeper than it looks on camera.

@@elmateo487 considering it’s an American spec Land Cruiser Prado with a V8… yes. Full time 4x4, center lock standard, electronic front and rear lockers basically if you have a limited. Phenomenal systems like KDSS from factory for off road use. The only limitation is horrific stock approach and departure angles, which is why I trimmed 5 inches from the front, 3 from the back, 4 on the sides. The community of GXOR is growing rapidly in America. Plenty of rigs now on 35’s and 37’s that can go anywhere a Jeep can for the most part.

@@elmateo487 “for the most part”. For example my buddies jeep with 100k in mods, where it’s basically not even a jeep anymore and is on 42’s? Sure, no. The average Rubicon or modded jeep driving around? You’re dead wrong. Plenty of content on KZbin for your viewing. The upper limits of a Jeep is higher for sure, but few can afford to mod the Jeep to a level a Land Cruiser is incapable of reaching.

@@elmateo487 You’re pussy whipped my dude. You’ll leave in a Jeep and come home in a GX or Toyota when the FCA junk breaks. If you think a Jeep is better at “everything” than a 120 series Cruiser with a superior build quality and 4x4 system you’re a bigger fool than I thought. If I want a pure rock crawling platform Jeep. If I want an overlander or long travel desert rig, or daily driver GX all fucking day. The build quality and reliability is light years ahead. I sold Jeep. It’s not rare for them to blow up or have severe issues within 20k-40k miles. For a GX to not last 400k miles would be rare.
