After a huge downpour here we ended up with over a inch of water sitting in the rear footwell. On investigation we found the problem. The end result was damage to all the underlay.
All new silent coat sound deadening, New sound deadening pads and back together with a much more quieter interior and most importantly no mould or smelly carpets.
I hope this video has helped to see how to strip a mk1 golf interior and sort/ungrade/replace you old underlay.
