Everybody commenting “I don’t know how someone lives like that”, after 15 years in the pest control business…this ain’t nothing! Some of the living conditions you see people acting perfectly ok with would astonish you! I’ve been in houses so infested with roaches I had to tape my pants legs to my boots to keep the roaches from running up my legs. A lot of what leads to these situations is either mental issues or yes substance abuse.

I abused heavy drugs for years and let me tell you i still made sure to keep myself and my home clean. So substance abuse is no excuse, but people with mental issues get a pass. Anyone other than people suffering with mental issues are just lazy individuals that have no self respect if they let there homes get in this type of staight.

As someone raised by hoarders, it’s mentally draining to live in these conditions, but it’s not easy to change, especially when it gets out of your control. Even if you try to clean and control the pest problem, it’s SO HARD to get the pests gone. Not having the funds to do a drastic extermination or multiple sessions makes it hard.

@@TwinHomeExperts no problem! It’s embarrassing enough dealing with situations like this, it’s even worse when you get so desperate to have to call professionals and you worry about the professionals judging you. Y’all are using a platform that reaches THOUSANDS and while it’s entertaining, it opens up individuals to be judgmental and makes customers feel even worse. @@davonnieaprice2105 - It is unfortunate when people who aren't hoarders pile on shame towards those who are. As if non-hoarders don't have problems? Maybe they don't hoard, maybe they're disciplined in many areas of their lives, but are arrogant. IMO, character flaw. That's a "hoarding" of pride. Anyway, regarding hoarders, I know a retired professional woman, has her money, no husband/children. Is a Level-4 hoarder ( IIRC, level before all-out dead animals / infestations. ) She thinks it's funny, it runs in her family, no big deal, but when her niece said that after her auntie passes away she's just gonna rent a big trash bin and throw everything in it. Auntie didn't like that at all! What it told the elder is that delusional / that much in denial / that much in defiance. It is a mental illness, as educated and as competent as she was in her business life, none of her customers knew what her home life was like. Not saying they should know, but we truly don't know each other until they let us in behind their walls. While I don't believe in arrogantly shaming hoarders, I don't subscribe to Denial, either. I've seen workers on her property go inside, see the Reality, then go on to enable her by dismissing it with "I don't see much of a problem" or "well, I don't see what the big deal is". OK, be nice, don't shame her, but don't add to the BS. She's a grown woman, treat her like one.

Always a good idea to have glass and metal containers for food storage. Buy jars, etc secondhand at Goodwill, garage sales, what have you. I truly don't get how anyone could live among those critters. We had ONE rat in our home a few months ago and it took us over a week to catch it. It's like we were held hostage, on edge the whole time that it might get onto our bed some night when we're sleeping. Finally caught it, on camera first...then it jumped into the back of my guitar amp and I quickly put a large picture frame over the amp to trap it in. Of course, it was a hell of a time to get it out the door...I put the amp on a hand truck, but the frame was bigger than the door so I had to slide a smaller posterboard in between...then to get the amp and hand truck down the front steps. Oy vey, all of this at 2am. By the way, the critter evaded all of my traps...wasn't interested. But I'm pretty sure he was living under my oven and behind the fridge. These city rats are smart.

When I first left home I rented a 2 bed house with a friend. It was as cheap as chips but infested with everything. We stripped the house throwing everything out until was just floors and built in cupboards. Removed panels in walls, ceilings and floors.we bought insecticide, poison and cement. It took about a week but we sealed all cracks around the house, gasses the whole house, everywhere 3 days running, laid poison and glue in all cavities. After about a week of not seeing much we bought new minimalist furniture. Occasionally we had to gas roaches and take out the odd mice.....but it was pretty much clear for three years. We were both able to save good money and buy new build homes. I remember telling the house builders I want to pay extra to get the house rat proof and they laughed at me saying it's already done son.🤣

If you live like a slob, and eat like a slob, and never clean-up like a slob, you WILL get rats. It comes down to personal choice. Clean up, and your chances of harboring a colony of Norway rats is practically nil. Live in filth and squalor, and you will pay through the nose in order for the Twin Experts to do a thorough rat eradication (pun intended) 🐀🐀🐀🐀😀

Everytime i get really worried seeing some rats get stomped on (I'm a pet lover) i remember that there's ALOT of acceptions and differences rats can have, like actual propper pet rats then rats that will bite, claw, attack, and destroy your home and give you harm/diseases. Keep it up!! Just found you guys, you are charming!

I am about to start cleaning a house with a really bad infestation, but I read that you should never use a vacuum or sweep up the droppings. Is that accurate? I see you using a hepa vac. Is that different than a regular shop vac?

Yep I have a couple of trashy neighbors and it’s brought rats to the rest of us.i don’t cohabitate with rats of any kind.what alerted me is my dogs.i have 5 small dogs.one female my mama dog is akc rat terrier and she had 3 boys that are half rat terrier then my pin mix.every night we go to bed they would just start barking and growling.one night i let them out of my room and all 5 almost had the rat.i never heard a rat scream so loud.they almost had it behind the neck to kill it.so finally I got two huge traps to get it.one night at 3 am he tripped the first one and didn’t get him.the second night got him half between the neck and face.that sucker weighed 8 pounds.i sealed up the hole to see if there’s anymore and so far none and I pray it stays that way.i could believe how huge he was.yes it was a male I flipped him over and had balls the size of my smallest dog.no more humping for that bad boy.i evicted him due to he was a free loader not even paying rent!i took pictures and it’s on my Facebook page.

i am thinking that the tenant was mixing water with some powder. it looks like he as taking a medication or something, or maybe creatine before a workout. thats exactly what creatine would look like in water. go back and watch it; he spits out the water and hes standing over the sink the whole time. i think he mixed water and some powder. later he has a drink in a different cup. he seems like a musician, heroin addict. cant believe that dude, living in that filth.
