Hi Alex, my husband was pick pocketed about 25 years ago. One good thing was he never keeps all his money in 1 pocket, always keep your money in front pockets, ladies wear your hand bag over your shoulder and on your front and keep it closed. Hope this helps. Great vid, thanks Alex

came in june to Magaluf and felt quite safe with my stuff on the beach, but that lady's idea of a wire combination lock is a good idea to lock it to the upright of the parasol whilst in the sea ect, maybe even talk to people next to you and agree to look after/ keep an eye on each others stuff if going for a drink or dip in the sea.

Hi alex fortunately nothings ever happened to me but must be awful. I usually bring very little to beach but i do bring my phone . I usually lie on top of my bag if im resting.and i always keep my bag in my eyeline if swimming alone or sometimes ask another lady to watch my bag and i return the favour if they want.

People sat on the table next to us in the hotel had their money stolen whilst waiting at the bus stop. And a couple of years ago a lady on our trip to Soller had her purse stolen in a shop whilst paying for her goods.

Poor Lisa, at least she didn’t have anything valuable stolen, and she managed to take photos of the thief on the beach. Alex this was a very good video and should be shown to new arrivals at their welcome meetings but ofcourse it won’t. I’ve had it happen to me and it’s just a nightmare trying to get things sorted( on the Sindicat I had a bag stolen in a shop, but a nice man from the Guardia Civil sorted us out. So yes people be very aware, you think it won’t happen to you but it could happen to anyone. Thanks Alex, EXCELLENT.

Just got back from 5 nights in Tent Palmanova, fantastic hotel, clean, modern, comfy beds, daily linen change, great food/brunch, lovely staff so would highly recommend the hotel. Tandoori night Palmanova does amazing Indian food. The Grill house was also amazing, order for 12 was perfectly done, as good as any steak restaurant in the UK, really top notch.

Magaluf is a beautiful place, I've been coming here many years and just booked next years to bring my grandson for his first holiday abroad, I've never experienced any problems on the beach or the strip, thank you for showing just how beautiful Magaluf is, I have found it is fun for all ages, The strip is a great night out I'm 54 and still love it

Hi there, I have just returned from Cala D'or on Sunday, when I was there I decided I would have a day on the beach at Cala Gran, however during the day three peoples bag were stolen during the day. At one point there was a commotion and a chase after a thief, no police ever showed up and the only police I saw in 10 days was four on foot at 7.30am when I was waiting for my transfer. Later I was talking to other guests at the hotel and the bag thieves were active all week, just though I'd make you aware.

In 30 years we've been every year to Mallorca and never had any trouble 're pickpockets...first day this year my husband had his wallet taken..in a shop. It was found a day later and returned to our hotel, cards intact and unused! Just the cash gone...disappointed to hear of all the problems this year.palmanova a beautiful resort..we won't let this incident put us off...by the way our hotel reception was very helpful...

Everytime we get a sun bed at cala gran beach in cala dor . The sunbed man always stresses to lock valuables away in the umbrella lockers and never leave valuables around.

Saw this happen at bus stop at Paguera, oriental couple walked oast ev1 when bus stoppef and took wallet from German man's backnpocket, bus driver spotted it told the man and he fortunately ran afyer them and they flung it down fir him ti recover. So blatant it was frightening!

When i used to go to Palmanova we would only take a10 euro each look around and if we saw something we liked would go back next night straight to the place get the item then drop it back to the hotel.We stayed at the Aqua beach lovely hotel great staff,unfortunatly my health does,nt allow me to go.There was 2 sisters that carried all their documents and a fair bit of money in their shopping bag they put it down and was distracted by a couple of small kids while the adulds pinched everything,so watch out for kids as well they get used to distracting people.

you should be on ypur guard in palma too. now more and more tourists are on the island especially in the capital the mor pick pockets are out and about ad there are more opportunities. it's rarely about cost of living....but opportunity.

have you tried speaking to son matias beach hotel as they have a camera on the top of their hotel that runs all the time. Im not sure where you were located on the beach where it happened? i have said it before and i will say it again.. you need a permanent police preaence on those beaches. They dont even bother getting out of the car they just trundle along. Put your bag under your towel and under your legs.

If you have anything pinched not just on the beach,report it at your hotel reception or holiday rep in hotel,they will probably write you a statement in Spanish to go to the police station or like i had to,hand it to the police upstairs at palma airport,they will log it,give you a crime number so that you can claim off your travel. Insurance.I got stung on last day of holiday for about€500 ,by a gypsy flower seller as soon as wallet came out 6 people around me hands all round distraction.

This is really awful sad news. People keep saying- what protests, we feel welcome. But stealing things like clothes and sliders is nothing other than spite. So if it is anti tourist protesters which looked like half the island marching on Palma then there'll be a never ending stream of this happening.
