At 6:28, I mention that Yasir is contradicting the authentic Sunni narrative. This can be found in Tareekh Al-Tabari 3/1028 and is narrated by Hilal bin Yasaf.

I would like to point out that I've only included some of what Yasir quoted that is originally from Abi Mikhnaf. There are other examples that I did not include since my intention was not to be comprehensive. There are other reports within Yasir's lecture that conflict with the authentic events, but I felt that this specific issue was necessary to highlight, since Yasir himself condemns Abu Mikhnaf as a source explicitly.

@@abdelhakauxiliary7086 Did you watch the complete video? Because in the video, while Farid does critics Yasir for taking things from the book of ibn Kathir that ibn Kathir has mentioned are from the shia book (Farid's mistake), Farid does mentions one point which Yasir directly took from the shia sources. I'm not saying Farid shouldn't be critiqued for his mistake but to call him a bastard is I think unwarranted. And we have already seen that Yasir Qadhi can sometimes make statements that are, to put nicely, controversial. So it isn't far fetched to criticize him (or doubt him) sometimes. That's not saying that Yasir isn't a scholar or that he is a bad person (Only Allah knows whats in his heart). Absolutely not. I've a lot of praise for him, and his lectures are quite fun to listen. But just because he is a good scholar doesn't makes him immune to criticism and doesn't makes anyone that criticizes him a "bastard" who is doing it "for the views". And it is a good thing to trust a good scholar's authority (since we might not be able research or verify everything ourselves) but if something (that he says) doesn't feel right to you, its a good thing to research and verify it yourself.

The damage is already pretty evident through people like you going to extreme lengths to defend & protect the likes of YQ and attacking those who try to advise you regarding his misguidance. There were disclaimers at the beginning of the video, you may wanna watch those. Are you suggesting the source is exclusively from this book you are showing? are there no other book from where Yasir Qadhi could have quoted the same thing from? his version concentrates on Ibn Kathir, and he is not wrong to quote from Ibn Kathir quoting abu makhnaf (pardon the spelling) if it is in that book or other sources. he explicitly said that he wont be going over the detailed reasoning behind his beliefs but just drag the summary out of it. Now taking parts of his video as quotation is problematic in my opinion because we should not quote from summarized information. Taking it as a monologue of a detailed study can be more a righteous approach.

The signs that prove the prophecy of Muhammad are numerous. Many books have been written to enumerate them and thoroughly discuss them. We would like to mention some of these signs as reported by Muslim scholars and which prove that Muhammad was a real Prophet including: - First, his good biography and high morals as well as the noble qualities that distinguished him. He was known before becoming a Prophet as a truthful and honest person, although the community where he lived was a society of ignorance. This was, perhaps, the most important sign of his prophecy. He was not known to have ever lied on people. So, why should he lie on be half of the Lord by claiming that he was a Prophet, if he was not a real Prophet? - Second, the powers and triumphs Allah gave him and the spread of the religion he preached, as well as the triumph of this religion over all existing religions in a short period of time. Had he been a liar, Allah would have humiliated and destroyed him as He did with those before him who falsely claimed Prophethood. - Third, the miracles Allah gave him as supporting evidence were beyond the ability of human beings and were beyond range of natural phenomena. The moon split for him, water gushed from his fingers, food became more abundant in his hands, and similar phenomena were authentically reported and happened in a way that could not be denied. - Fourth, the Prophet was backed by the greatest miracle which is the Quran. In fact, Quran was a challenge and remains a challenge for Arabs who were known to be good poets and eloquent speakers. Allah challenged them to write a single Surah (chapter) that would be similar to that of Quran, but the Arabs were unable to do so. Indeed, the challenge still endures, none of the Arabs throughout history - since the revelation of the Quran - was able to make anything that was even similar to it. No doubt that the Quran has been preserved intact until it came to us. Groups of people memorized it including children, adults, males and females. So generations brought the Quran to generations until it reached us as it was revealed 14 centuries ago. Hence, the Quran remains intact protected from distortion or alteration. Nothing has been added to it, nor taken from it. Quran is full of scientific facts that were verified only in these times of scientific investigation. No doubt that Muhammad who was illiterate would not have possessed this knowledge 14 centuries ago. Doesn't this prove the authenticity of the Quran and that it is the Word of the Creator of the Universe who knows all its secrets? - Fifth, the things from the unseen that he (the Prophet ) informed us about. Some of them occurred during his life time. Others happened later. Some of these things happened to the Prophets, may Allah exalt their mention, who preceded him and some are still to occur. He also informed about the signs of The Day of Judgment, some of which had already been seen such as widespread killings and genocide, adultery and fornication and the consumption of the alcohol, outnumbering of males by females and the increased number of earthquakes, and afflictions,… etc. - Sixth, the testimony of some of the people of the Book that he was a true Prophet. Some of them believed in him like 'Abdullah Ibn Salam who was a Jew as well as Negus (king of Abyssinia) who was a Christian. Some of the people of the Book certified that he was a Prophet from Allah but refused to follow him like Huyayy Ibn Akhtab. The above are some of the signs that prove his Prophethood and the authenticity of his revelations. We would like the questioner to visit some of the Islamic centers in her area, and hopefully, they will guide her to some useful references in the matter.

This is not the end of the world what Yasir Qadhi said ....he is prominent and very respectable caller to path of allah inshallah .he did many great things as well beijnillahi ta'la ...although I respect you but here it wasn't necessary to point out such issue that doesn't make much difference in iman of a believer.but this can create problem in people's mind to follow him or not....hope in future u make videos that are more on serious issues for Muslim Ummah . I watched 1 or 2 videos by Qadhi years ago, and I didn't like him, so I never clicked on any videos of his ever since. It's not like you truly dislike someone, but this happens; sometimes you just don't incline towards a person, without even knowing why. Perhaps it's the way someone presents himself, or how he speaks or whatever it may be. I think it has to do with how much of yourself you see in another person. I've never given him any thought or time of mine, and I only hear about him whenever these controversial statements are addressed by other Muslims. Obviously, the "narrative has holes" debacle, or his opposition to Kalaam, and now this. You know, this phenomenon in itself is quite interesting; why we gravitate towards some speakers, but dismiss others, even though we could potentially learn things from them. When you said that millions of Muslims have watched this lecture of his, I'm just left wondering why so many people gravitate toward this brother. I don't even think he's particularly eloquent, and he doesn't seem to have the type of far-reaching knowledge that you often see in other speakers. I don't know, he lacks a certain appeal.. that's just my personal opinion.

This video is pure Hate. Farid you were doing great job refuting non muslims, how can you resort to this? Even though you know that classical scholars have also taken that reference? Even though YQ said "by and large? Even though he warned and disclaimed that he would be using his judgement as to which version?
@Ahmad-qx6pg3 жыл бұрын
How is it hate? The man gave you clear cut facts in a non-emotional manner. If someone is preaching falsehood on an enormous platform to millions of people, they should be called out. End of story
@ifrsmasterclass3 жыл бұрын
@@Ahmad-qx6pg I love Farid's responses, including the one where he addressed YQ's "hole in the narrative" thing. But what's wrong in this response is that it is delibrately or inadvertently designed to give impression that YQ is "preaching falsehood". While history is not black and white and many great scholars have taken different notions. This calling out culture inevitably "judges" and belittling other Muslim just because he holds a different view. I'm not saying any scholar is perfect. But calling out people will keep dividing us in smaller and smaller chunks.
@ifrsmasterclass3 жыл бұрын
@@Ahmad-qx6pg I have similar thoughts about daniel haq. He is doing a great job being bold and truthful. But when he starts judging Omar Sulaiman for not being as bold, that's the problem. You cant criticize in a way which makes people judge the other guy as ill intentioned. Unless you are sure that he is ill intentioned.
