I agree.. gotta add your own razzle dazzle to your magick. It’s ok to get ideas, but as you go you’ll naturally do your own thing. Back in high school I used to write all day in my journal. People would try to see what I was writing. One day I made up a code to write in. Then to make it more confusing, I drew up symbols that stood for whole words/phrases. Now that I’m practicing magick, I use those symbols to write my petition or on a candle, etc. I love making my own sigils & one day it hit me that I’ve been doing this since I was a kid. I love how it all came full circle. And also the privacy in case someone ever gets curious as to what I’m “working” on.

I've come to realize that if I try to follow along with other people's ways of doing their workings, etc. , it becomes very overwhelming real quick. Taking a little bit of some things here and there until I find the ones that work for me, have been a game changer. In other words, use discernment (your intuition) to help you figure it out as you go.

The biggest thing I love and what drew me into the spiritual walk I'm on, is the fact my Tarot teacher (tarot is what got me started on it all, lol!) said "In witchcraft, there are no rules, you can make your own, but harm none." Baby, that is what I"m all about! I've always remembered what she said when I start getting confused. I love diversity, and learning different ways people do things in their craft. Some things I may adopt into my practice, as long as it isn't a closed practice in which case they probably wouldn't be showing it to me anyways! Other things I may say "no thanks" to. For me, as long as I'm growing and looking for the highest good, that is the rule I made for myself. This is a great video and I think more people need to remind us of this. Peace.

In the beginning of my spiritual journey, I’d jump deep into crystals, incense, and other things after checking out a lot of social media videos. You may could say I was extremely addicted to that particular ritual of purchasing a lot of spiritual tools. Until one day, the spirit had to tell me to keep things simple. Meditation, a simple walk in the park, spending time with family and doing what I enjoy has l now become my new spiritual ritual. The next cycle, I’m not sure where spirit may lead me to do…but I’ll be ready 😊

I'm more spiritual and in tune with God now than I've ever been growing up in church. Finally out from under the strict guidelines that demanded I had to do things like them to be close to God. Now that all that chatter is gone i have truly been able to form my relationship with him on my own terms and I've been happier ever since.

One of the things that I appreciate about my mama and daddy is that they did introduce me to God and Christianity but they never forced religion down me and my brothers and sisters throat. We could go to church if we wanted to but didn’t have to if we didn’t want too. My parents didn’t want to baptized us as babies because they wanted us to choose our own religious or spiritual path in life. Thank you mama and daddy 🥰

I can relate to this so much never understood church. I’m so glad my grandmother never forced me to go the older that I got, I was able to stay home by myself and then hang out with my other bestie that was my grandfather cause he wasn’t feeling it either to the point they drove separate cars cause he wasn’t with all of that mingling and congregating afterwards. He would look at me and say “ Hey granddaddy’s baby ( I’m literally the baby of the grandkids but my grandparents favorite one) do you wanna go to Burger King , McDonald’s or Chuck E. Cheese , then the park and I would look at him like is this a trick question say less 😂😂😂😂😂. We would be everywhere 😂😂😂. By the time I was 15 it was a wrap. I would try to go off and on for the message, if I felt that I really needed it cause of what I may be going through at the time but having a conversation with my grandmother one day, letting her know my stance and struggles with it and she said “ NeeNee you can’t force yourself to get into the church. You have to let the church get into you. You have a gift that you will understand once you get older you always had it. I really didn’t understand it then until I got of age learning about my mom after her passing 3 weeks after I was born that she was a rootworker and healer.

I think you should always walk with respect. Personally I try not to walk on graves but if I do I make sure to apologize. I also am very quiet in cemeteries. Like I don't play music in my headphones. Doing all this may be silly but it feels right y'know.
@MiaEZ3 ай бұрын
I enjoy the peace of a cemetery and so i feel the people laid to rest there must definitely enjoy their peace there. I don't walk over their graves. I always bring an offering for those I am visiting and I always leave 9 pennies for the Strong Gaurdian Spirits that gaurd the entrances, grounds and spirits. Cemeteries are usually so carefully kept beautiful. I teach my children and grand children they are not allowed to play on any of the graves. I want them to learn that there are places that we must have respect for others space just like their homes. Our lives are full of fun and joy but when we are in a cemetery visiting I feel like I want them to always have that respect for people's places and spaces so that they develop STRONG boundaries for their own selves and their sacred spaces. Plus my babies learn allot from each visit they end up asking me a ton of questions that allow me opportunity to teach them that important respect for all life and the life in death.

It's not always an extreme left. A lot of people where I'm from in Louisiana have a healthy balance of faith and "spirituality". All of my life I've referred to religion as apart of my spirituality, and I've taught Christian education classes for 20+ years. I find just as many spiritual people throw shade on religion. It depends on that individuals experiences and traumas.

Looking back at how that worked for me and how i’ve tried other methods that haven’t worked as well shows me that making lists is part of my magic.

I have two bits of advice that I think is helpful at any stage, but especially in the early stages of your journey: Be careful with which ancestors you call upon for guidance; not all ancestors have good intentions for you. Secondly, trust your intuition. We have genetic or cell memory, and we have spiritual memory - that's what informs our intuition. All the love to you Yaya and to your lovely followers ❤
