@@lizardtattoo1 Actually, it isn't. Civil wars are different than the other current conflicts that have received tons of attention. Those other conflicts are ones between two separate countries and peoples. They are much more black and white with fewer shades of grey. Civil wars are, by nature, much more nuanced. The only way to actually stop them is by putting boots on the ground and even then, it usually ends badly for the country that intervenes. Just ask the US how well their interventions into both Vietnam and Iraq went. The vast majority of the chaos in the American occupation of Iraq was the result of a sectarian Civil War between Shi'ite and Sunni militias with the US caught in the middle.

Because subconsciously we not only expect this from both camps, we know they do this. Remember the crusades? Yeah. They're still mad. Remember when europeans carved up african borders and told all indigenous tribes to get along? History leaves a pattern. Those of thicker constitution choose not to cherry pick and instead understand the truth of the matter; its a dog eat dog world and we are the beast of man.

@@destroyn8rr342 While that does exist, that might not be why this conflict isn't covered. The UAE has been increasing its funding of western media companies, replacing the funding of traditional advertisers. As a shareholder, the UAE has a say on what the company spends its money investigating. The effect is that the western attention has been exhausted covering the Ukraine war, Israel-Palestine, and three elections (American, British, and a surprise French).

Its WW1, that's what it is. Massed Infantry attacks into machine gun fire? Contested airspace? bizarre armored vehicles? Artillery shell count analysis? That's WW1.

That new Russian tactic is something straight out of Mad Max. If this happened in a movie/novel I was reading, I’d scoff for how unrealistic that sounds. Mental how wild reality is even compared to fiction

It goes as well as you'd imagine unfortunately. Some attacks have been successful with overwhelming numbers (and horrendous casualties). But there's also plenty of drone footage of bikes being annihilated by machine gun fire. There's a reason why cavalry charges on fortified positions are obsolete.

South Korea and Japan can also count in The Philippines and Taiwan. Also perhaps Vietnam. As well as almost every naval country in Nato.

But why do we need an asian version of NATO, why not just let Japan w/e into NATO and slightly modify it's tennants to say it is a defense alliance to combat Authoritarianism all together. It's too confusing to have two, what if both call meetings at the same time etc.
@ALLMINDmercenarysupportsystem
@ALLMINDmercenarysupportsystem 11 күн бұрын
How would it be confusing? It's not like they'll call it NATO. It'd probably be SEATO (South East Asian Treaty Organization) or PODO (Pacific Ocean Defense Organization) or something along those lines.
@pdraggy
@pdraggy 11 күн бұрын
@@ALLMINDmercenarysupportsystem I'm assuming both have the US as a big partner than like I said, just from that perspective, it's a bit annoying for us to be pulled in multiple directions like that. What about if Africa decides it needs a NATO like pact (they kind of do, with that south sudan thing) or South America? It may not be remedial physics level of complication but it brings unnecessary complications to the table regardless. I mean what are we talking about? Military and security regulations right? Along with defensive obligations? We have basically obliged ourselves to defend democracy wherever it is threatened regardless so why mask it? Just allow NATO for all democratic countries that reach a certain level on the freedom scale or something (not like N Korea or Russia that hold rigged "democratic" elections). Otherwise you end up with a half dozen regulations which is particularly annoying if not downright complicated. Like is that artillery shell built to NATO conventions, SEATO or w/e, or South Sudan (if we ever deem that worthy, tons of dictatorships involved there lol) see it can get confusing. We need one worldwide 'trade' or defense organization as a step up from UN. Only free, democratic governments allowed in this club though lol (Philippines, South America, Africa I'm looking at you. I don't think the question for South America is democratic or not so much, but the amount of corruption is above Ukraine levels for sure!)

Given the amount of land and people involved, then how does making a comparison to Gaza make any sense? Death and genocide is not a race to be number one, but your treatment of Gaza seems to constantly want to talk down the magnitude of the genocide
