One thing i haven't heard anyone mention, the eride pro ss 2.0 comes with a "stem lock" by standard that goes all the way through the stem. The warp 9 is way higher quality and beefier but it's doable with some spacers and the stock stem lock
@TBElectric8 ай бұрын
Oh interesting, we haven’t taken apart our 2.0 yet. We will have to check it out.

I’m glad I found this comment. I pulled mine apart and realized that it’s a stem lock, but it is way smaller than not as beefy. I’m still going to run the warp9

@@elimin8or23 yeah I did the same, especially since I already bought it lol. Much nicer top cap too

I was surprised to find the stock stem lock as well. It was too tight from the factory as it was hard to steer. Installed the warp 9 that I got from TB.

When you sit on the bike, hold the front brake and rock forward and back - is there any movement in the stem?? My bike is brand new with wrap 9 bars, riser and stem lock -- and no matter what I do there is slight movement front and back. I don't know anyone else with a bike so I can't compare.

havin trouble removing the star nut 😭
@MFrudedog6 ай бұрын
Just did my eride 2.0 and it has a factory stem lock that fits against the bar mount, still need a kit for the spacers and color, but no star nut and best of all the bottom of the stem is recessed and the warp 9 fits inside without fender hole or longer bolts
@TBElectric6 ай бұрын
we noticed that! its a great upgrade and its great that it fits with the fender
@brenth5606 ай бұрын
What additional kit of spacers is needed for eride
@katlukeАй бұрын
If you want to keep using your mudguard there is no need to buy the adaptor,after removing the star nut simply refit the mudguard. Once you have refitted the mudguard take a can of spray paint and give a couple of small squirts down the steering tube. Wait a few moments then remove the mudguard,on the mudguard will be an exactly marked circle off the paint,measure the centre of this paint mark and then drill a 32-35mm hole. Fit the stem lock and then refit the mudguard which will now fit perfectly over the base of the stem lock allowing you to fit it without drama in the same position using the original fittings. hth

Why not just drill a hole on the fender so it will snug up to the bottom of the triple clamp?

Do you have to use the W9 top cap or could this be installed with the Crane Creek Forty cap? Not sure if those bolts are standard and would fit into other top caps properly.

@trey_dizzle41616 ай бұрын
Is this helpful with a stock bike or only if you go direct mount?
@TBElectric6 ай бұрын
its mainly for a direct mount stem. it still helps keep your headset tight if you have a regular bar mount.

Will it still work if the steer tube is cut down to the 10mm spacer height?

The bottom of the warp 9 stem lock doesn't interfere with the front fender on thee eride pro ss
@TBElectric5 ай бұрын
on some forks the bottom of the stem lock is set into the bottom crown. If it doesn't, use lock tight on the fender bolts and tighten the bolts

Hi guys, Why would you always go for a direct mount which will bend or snap the handlebar in case of hard fall, instead of steering tube mount which will most of the time only slide in that same situation ? Cheers
@ballscratcher93895 ай бұрын
so just recently put on a direct mount stem and while i don’t know about the crashing factor, i can tell you it makes the bike feel much more stable
@joem86015 ай бұрын
@@ballscratcher9389 If your bike drops, you risk damaging the four screw holes of your top triple clamp (to which it’s mounted) and possibly bending the clamp itself, which isn’t as easily replaceable as fenders or other common parts. Triple clamps are specific to each fork and usually require buying a new fork for replacement. Additionally, the handlebars are more likely to bend or snap since they can’t move from their position, and the throttle might break into pieces. I’d suggest not mounting the throttle on the edge of the bars.
@Joenoblocks2 ай бұрын
The triple tree is already tight and strait Do not untighten the top of the triple tree just put your stem lock on and snug it up.
Wait, wait wait...yes, the stem lock is better. However, dude, the top crown pinches and principally holds everything together securely once you've used the top cap to take out play in the headset. So, the pinch bolt there does what the stock stem pinch bolts do, just to be clear
