Dunno....ya know that part of learning a skill where u have just gotten some sense of what goes into the craft but your own skill and understanding is pretty limited so you're really just in awe of what really talented people can do? That's where I'm at lol 😅 I hear it and pick up on details of awesome things that are at play, but i have little if any clue how it's achieved. Just a bedroom producer ngl. Put me at a Pro Tools station and catch me slackjawed. I'm the dude looking over the shoulder in amazement. Just hype... 🎉 Esp now hearing the band does it themselves. What I'll say is they really dial in the tone of every instrument, the amps and drums, how everything is mic'd, and how it's recorded, processed, mixed and mastered to achieve what seems the exact desired effect. This is one of those bands where you can listen to a track over and over, keep picking up new details and really dig how brilliantly everything is put together. ❤

Jenny Lee Lindberg, the bass player. She is easily one of the best bass players out there, her grooves are complicated, beautiful and always perfect. This is one of the few Warpaint songs where she sings any lead vocals, although she sings backing vocals on almost all of their songs. She also put out a solo album last year calling herself JennyLee; I don't like it as much as Warpaint, but there are some good tracks.

This is... brilliant. I'm a little overwhelmed with this music video to be honest. I randomly found this video while searching for early 80's new wave and post punk so I feel lucky to have found this in time for the fall season.

i'm listening to Warpaint for the first time as I write, brought here by KZbins suggestive programing. Thus far, Warpaint is very cool! I will continue to explore their artistry. I was wondering if you had crossed paths with "Skating Polly", a band out of Norman Oklahoma? SP is a band that plays rock, with a bent toward punk, but also pop, they call it Ugly Pop (genre).... I saw them in Lawrence Ks. two weeks ago and in St. Louis in May, ....just Wow! They are by far my favorite bad and I believe they are the best Rock and Roll band in America. They are broad and deep in talents, just back from a tour in Europe and will be celebrating their 10th year as Skating Polly in one week, on Halloween... I highly recommend them. R.U.in St. Louis

@@randyulrich1903 No not familiar with them. I'm actually pretty old fashioned with the musical taste but each year I'll find a few artists that I really like and add to my collective.

@@ldekker97 Thank you for your comments Li Anne, glad to encounter someone else who has discovered SP! So it went like this for me this afternoon: got off work, heading home in my vehicle having que'd up My Mix on KZbin, 1st song out of the mix was Skating Polly's acoustic version of "Flatwound Strings". Next was Indie artist Kirsten Johanna with her SP cover of "Perfume for Now". Next out of the random box came the Netherlands's multi-talented Nikki Henskens with her acoustic guitar cover of the Arctic Monkeys "All My Own Stunts". Finally, two by the Regrettes: "I Dare You", followed by "I Love Us" which is arguably my favorite song right now! Home now, but if I had continued to listen, quite sure some AURORA would also have come out of the box soon, perhaps her song "Conqueror", so my weekend off to a great start thanks to great artists! (btw, any relation to singer songwriter Liza Anne?) Hope you have a sensational weekend too! Rock on! R.U.inSt.Louis

I find it interesting that people think their appearance is really even relevant. I could see the argument about them not looking healthy, because health is a genuine thing to be concerned about. But arguing that they aren't dressed well has little to do with this video. It's okay to not like what they are wearing or how they did their hair, but it seems like many people have the expectation that they are supposed to look a certain way, and they don't. They are free to look however they want and I am happy that they embrace that. I don't think I've seen arguments like this about an all-male band. That bothers me that there are arguments like that here. Just enjoy the music!

People forget that the video is a work of art distinct but not independent from the song, so everything about it has purpose.

Speaking of appearances, I would make babies with Jenny Lee (just to be clear, I'm saying that my genetically defined phenotypical preferences favor her, I think they're all pretty crazy and talented, and I love the music they make.)

Well I think these girls rock, they dress in a way that makes them feel good, so fuck the rest . It's their problem to define themselves and their personality, not anyone elses
