Very cool! How new of an engine do you think is resonable to install in the 9N? I was thinking about frankensteining a modern tsi 1.8 from a wrecked car into my old polo, do you reckon it's a good idea?

Considering doing this exact swap soon due to a worn 3rd cylinder ring (swap is just that much cheaper/easier than a rebuild lol) and this is super helpful. What tools did you need? A variety of wrenches, car jacks, screwdrivers and all necessary tips, beyond that is there much else?

I don't remember anything special on that swap. It shoud be straight forward. Is not extremely easy but for sure is better to swap the engine in order to repair it. My opinion

No, it won't run correctly because the ECU (engine computer) and the software is completely different
