Just addressing some of the CONs Keybinds - Yes I don't have ASD keys, didn't think of it and difficult to implement it now. But it is in WP2. Supply Depots - the supply system is setup to make it realistic on where you can go and how difficult it is to get supply though an area overall like jungle with no road. Shattering - That represents moral break as well or potentially the enemy is coming around your flanks and the entire army breaks formation and runs away. Also at times the combat value and physical strength of the unit is so low and the odds so high that you can't represent the damage. Like 4,000 men with high effectiveness attacking 2,000 men with very low effectiveness (they are starving). That's 2 strength vs 1 strength. China Builds - Chinese divisions were very small groups in armies which were the size of European corps. So the scale reflects that. A Chinese div wouldn't be appropriate for the scale. But you can split an army and combine it representing smaller groups of units. A small army is 15 strength, a large one 30 strength. Two smalls can be merged into a large. The reason why you can't merge damaged armies like a 12/30 is due to the structure of a military unit. Most of it is support to allow the troops to fight not actual fighting men. So the strength represents the fighting portion of the units. That is why it is easier to repair than build a new one. Transports - They are reusable. I believe you are referring to Landing Craft. That is expended and done so for a reason. It represents preparation, training, and literally those boats on the beach at Normandy. They do get destroyed and damaged. Transports are made available at the start of every turn they aren't carrying someone. Speed - Options (upper right gears), adjust the A.I. move and attack speeds to be more slow. But no pausing the action but I think that's a good idea and I will add it to my list. Intel - Good ideas thanks. Very fair review. Thanks a lot for doing this video for the gamers.

Greetings Alvaro. Supply Depots - Ah interesting, I like that. Shattering - Ah I just felt they disintegrated too easily. China Builds - I wasn’t aware of that. Transports - I must of missed it, I sent a division from a British Base in the Indian Sea to the Burma area, the division used up my 10 transport pool and didnt return it. Does it return after a certain amount of turns? Speed - I think I maxed that option out, it must be me getting old and not being able to see that well ha ha Its an awesome game, thanks for making it. 👍👍

I've seen you address criticisms elsewhere on youtube and I commend you for doing so. I like that you take an interest in feedback from players and take the time to instruct and explain everything. I'm going to buy your game later today.

@@yozor.8693 Awesome :) I want to make good games. Might cost me more time, thus less money, but I believe in quality over cookie-cutter quantity. I think it pays off in the end. I believe players will lose their mind with WarPlan 2 at the improvements.

Thanks for the review. Seems like this game successfully fills a void in terms of gameplay (detailed but not too complicated), and in terms of setting (not that many games on the Pacific War). I still wish they would make a War In The Pacific 2 one of these days! :D

Only if the UI is vastly improved. Could be a good idea to break it up into even smaller scenarios.

Thanks for your review! It would help if you could put timestamps/sections into the time bar so that the structure of the different pros and cons is more accessable. :)

You know what they say about manuals... A.I. Move Delay - How fast you see the computer opponent move A.I. Attack Delay - How long before the battle popups vanish on computer attacks

@@TheStrategyWargamer I think the best solution is to go through the combat log of the past turn at the beginning of your turn and possibly to toggle the AI movement. Very good review btw :)

FYI since this review a lot more features and changes have been added to the game. Including some ports being upgradable and reduced effectiveness for fleets at sea. Also stationary defensive units that can't be used to invade. The current build is in a really good state. I also play my own games. I am deep in a Pacific 1941 mirror game. It's really interesting. I am losing both games but it is a challenge. I also get to see, witness, and feel what the players do so I can better address their concerns. The WP2 engine is currently being build FYI.

Curious when playing your own game do you play against human or AI? If it's AI I thought you might be able to predict what they do because of your programming?

@@Taipan303 The Axis A.I. has 3 different plans it can take. I don't play my A.I. unless it is to test the A.I. I play against humans for balancing issues and for fun.

I spent most of my time in the National Guard CERFP unit. We were actually The first unit to become certified and operational. I know it’s not as legendary as serving in the 82nd All American or the Ranger Battalion, but it was an important unit. I just wish I was still serving especially during this pandemic… we trained for biological virus response.

@@TheStrategyWargamer Wow, actually I think that is pretty damn cool! It doesn't matter in which part of the forces one serves his or her country, it is important that one does and learns from it, too. And every part of the forces contributes to the greater good :) I personally think National Guard CERFP is pretty damn cool. And the current times show how important such a unit can suddenly become. And you were ready to be there if things like now had happened during the time you served! In my country (Germany) I am in a unit (I am in the very early stages only and it is not my main job) that is a bit similar to the National Guard; it is a rather new thing, but like 2 or 3 years ago I could do a little bit of training (checkpoint situations) with some guys from the US forces, that was quite a positive and memorable experience :)

It seems to be the game I have been waiting for. I had my fun with Strategic Command and wanted something more detailed but bounced off the Gary Grisby kind of games. However it's a bit odd that Chinese are able to raise armored corps but not armored division, while in reality, they were not able to raise anything above batalion level (pls correct me if I'm wrong), not too realistic Imho.

Thats what I felt when playing this game and WarPlan 1. It’s that perfect sweet spot between strategic command and Grognard I have to research the Chinese Army in WW2. I’m not familiar with their army organizations
