I purchased a vinyl record a few days ago with no label other than "Squarepusher" on the inner circle. I'd heard of Squarepusher before, but I had no idea what was on the record. I took a gamble and spent $12 on it.. All that was on the record was this single track. Best $12 I ever spent.

I picked my just-turned-four-year-old up from preschool and she got in the car talking about wanting to watch Pinkaliscious when we got home because that’s what the two little girls in her class like and she wants the cultural literacy to bond with them over their interests (she longs for their friendship). But she also wanted to sit in the car and listen to this song on repeat with our very good speakers because she is already an audiophile with extremely broad taste. I told her no screen time or load music inside after dinner, so we’d better go in if she wanted to get some Pinkaliscious in before dinner and she said she no she just wants to hear more Squarepusher. I hope she isn’t too lonely as she grows up.

Let me be good to and of the sky, that I might dance in my life and bid us well of me, free and loving, and give back to the goodness of life and of God that has always been kind. I pray us good life, natural life, peaceful life..I pray health in me, and for all. Blessed God, guide me with purity to abundance. It is in and of love I have learned, life is lived when we can share love, when we are well with us. Guide me to calm when I am anxious, rest when I am weary, peace when I am stressed, and wholeness when I am weak. I live my life in and of goodness to God, to life, and good with the world, and beyond. Let peace pour over us, like a cup of water's love streaming rivers of blessing over us, and through us. Some of Squarepusher's music can be so hard on the ears, which is the main reason I don't listen to many of his songs (although they all seem to have perfectly mashed up drums). I wish he would make more of this type of song, still glitchy and even slightly alien but more reserved and less punishing, like a robot who's mind has advanced to another level of complexity.

Dude his name is squarepusher. Of course he's gonna distort and gain limit sounds. All it's really doing is pushing a lot more harmonics, making it seem louder and more damaging

When I first heard 2002, probably before it went on the album, it was strangely familiar. It was at the end of a dnb set (easier to mix as a closing track). The vocals, and the synth sound familiar for some reason. I don't know where he got the idea or where he got the vocal samples, but I know I've heard them before somewhere. From the singing part to the processed rhyme. Someday I'll try to figure out what they're from, and I know there's a song that has the same main melody. Its like a familiar song, but put through some electronic psychadelic blender. Epic tune.
