One of my favorite things is that the dev team gave an explanation for why they chose to patch the invincibility glitch used in speedruns, which means they're keeping track of how people are running the game and intentionally leaving things in for runners to use as much as they reasonably can.

@@Mech3001 the heated rooms deal damage with a ramp up, and because the diffusion beam is required, and just getting to it is impossible with max E tanks, let alone the limited amount with early grapple/bomb.

Fun fact, if you hack to get the hyper beam before the escape sequence, you can go to where Samus’s ship should be, and it’s just not there

@@fieratheproud well, Adam throughout Dread isn't *actually* Adam. It's R.B. the whole time. So I'm guessing the real Adam had access to the ship the whole time.

@@murmirr not entirely only the network stations are actually Raven beak if you notice Adam In the games a lot of the time he calls Seamus lady like in the start of the game where he calls you lady in the elevator but he says go to a network station he just didn’t expect for Raven beak to hack them and take control the first network station Adam calls you Seamus Aran which is NOT what Adam usually calls you this is when you can see that Raven beak is in control

10:40 I did this in my casual play through because I got mildly lost. Thought it was intended by the devs until I beat the boss to see the new item tutorial have gravity suit samus as the visual. Fun times

So, Samus's hand disappearing in the cutscene after beating Raven Beak happens when you don't have Gravity Suit. That's it. If you do the fight with either Power Suit or Varia Suit, her hand will be missing in that specific shot.

I'm putting out my theory as to why the escape sequence door glitch crashes the game: when you break special blocks in the game, they still appear in your map (as normal or greyed out). I might need to check this but that special gate might disappear from the map meaning it literally gets destroyed from the game's memory (maybe it doesn't disappear from the map but it still gets destroyed from memory instead of staying in memory in a "destroyed" state if that makes sense). If the gate disappears from memory, the marker would point to a null object now and that causes a crash because the object doesn't exist anymore. Anyways that's my Game Theory

My first playthrough was over 20 hrs. My second playthrough was on hard 100% in 10 hrs with several sequence breaks. Loved it.

I missed this series! I even learned enough to warrant another play-through. For getting to Screw Attack, you don't so much as 'bonk' the ledge, it's more like you want to slide down against the corner. When I made that distinction in my mind it became WAY easier to actually get it.

I love how when entering the escape sequence that usually plays after Itorash crashes, the animation still works exactly the same with regular samus.

Two things, first, all of the cutscenes are animations, not recordings, second, it just makes Samus do the animation and doesn't check what suit she is wearing. This is true for all cutscenes and all suits I believe. (The little tutorials for weapons in the samus menu are recorded however)

Fun fact 2: Grapple beam actually deals the same damage as a normal shot. Just imagine going to Raven Beak with the normal cannon.

I’m gonna try it! I don’t really do missiles, because they do the same amount of damage as a wide beam. It just uses up unnecessary ammo. Use beam, not missiles. I’ve played Dread 30 times, so I’ve figured out some stuff😊

I've never mastered the running technique to clip into walls, but there's another way to do it that I used to skip the Drogyga fight. It involves standing against the wall, turning around, aiming at a specific angle, pausing the game, turning around during the pause, and unpausing. It only took me a couple of tries to master it. (And I am notoriously bad at these kinds of tricks.) Anyway, that began a whole series of sequence breaks for me until I found myself stuck at the Experiment No. 57 fight without space jump, so I'm pretty much screwed.

There's thankfully a couple of these that don't seem to fit into what MercurySteam sees as "needing to be patched" In, fact there's one skip where their only addressing of it was making it more visually clean rather than just taking the skip out.

If they haven't patched these glitches out by now, they're probably not going to unless it's game breaking. It's a testament to Mercury Steam's skill that they created a game with so many speedrun segments without the game completely breaking.

Anyone else get stuck in morph ball shinespark trying to get the last missle tank on the very bottom in Burenia? After midair slinesparking into the 1st incline, I accidentally got into a morph ball instead of sliding in the middle of the straightaway. The animation froze. Time was still running, but the shinespark energy did not deplete. I stayed in that charged morph ball until I jumped out of it (I think). That missle tank was such a pain in the ass!

To the complainers....30-hour game that's pretty much linear and no replay value or a 4-8 hour game with practically hundreds ways to play it? This video should provide a clear answer. Definitely going to try that God-mode glitch because I haven't (and probably never will) patch the game unless there's a DLC.

I had the z-axis facing glitch happen after leaving Z-57's counter sequence. I think it had to do with holding charge shot and free aim by the end of it, but I'm not sure. It was weird.

12:15 does not break adam rooms, currently playing on emulator on v1.0.0. They may seem "out of order" but they still work. And will still lock you in if you accidentally walk into one, and then force you to do whatever miniboss is attached. Example - I had already unlocked everything but plasma, including the final fight, was running around collecting items for % and got stuck behind frozen doors. That were not frozen before I entered. I then had to continue as normal to kill z57 and thaw everything.

flash shift is a different pseudo-science than flash shift, flash shift is literally just moving samus' entire body forward really fast, a phase shift usually involves the displacement of atoms allowing for someone to pass through physical objects and/or become untouchable/untouching for a short amount of time

If you use the pseudo wave in the demo version, you can make it to and fight Corpius. However, his cutscenes are silent besides the ambiance, and there’s no music during the fight. If your willing to fight him without the spider magnet, you can get the phantom cloak. And finally, the game crashes because the video file for the tutorial doesn’t exist. Edit: not having the spider magnet isn’t required, it just makes the fight harder because you can’t avoid one of his attacks.

I just found out about that today and lost my shit. There's even a way to quick kill the Experiment worm thing, the thing that clogs up the reactor, with a shinespark, which I think triggers a different death scene too. More games need to do stuff like that. I'm kinda pissed now that I avoided watching any of these vids before I did my first play through.

Playing in 2023, when you get to the Purple E.M.M.I. That Can see through walls (essentially the last few,) if you cloak and then corner yourself into a space where it is unlikely to physically walk through, yet it will undoubtedly look at, if you deactivate the cloaking at the exact moment that it’s line of sight passes through you, it will no longer pick up on your physical model visually anymore until you move again. Obviously by this time the E.M.M.I. are such stressful opponents that as soon as you move, they will be coming after you again, and your cloaking energy won’t regenerate if you don’t move… So this is more of a glitch to catch your breath and let them get at least a bit of distance before you figure out what to do when you do start to move again… Assuming most of these have been patched, I imagine they didn’t see the harm in leaving this one in.

I like to think that there three different samus's. The "New Player" Samus, who's totally lost all the time and goes "Huh, what's this?" All the time. The Veteran Samus, or as i like to call it *"Lore-Accurate"* Samus, can 99.9 percent of the time no-hit bosses, usually knows the exact route to get from point A to point B, and knows all the item locations. *...Then there's the SpeedRunner Samus, basically the same thing as Veteran except this Samus knows how to break reality to her benefit.*

I'm not sure why you'd say Drogyga is a "very annoying fight". For one, I think it's pretty fun, but also, it's like the easiest boss fight in the game? You just mash missiles on it's top tentacle, charge shot the switches, pump it full of missiles, counter it's attack and repeat once more. It's not hard to beat it in less than a minute.
