I agree! Joe whatever is always unprepared (a bit like TRUMPf). He should take his hat, and that soon! CNBC has turned out to be working in the interest of BIG OIL, BIG MONEY and corrupt government. They totally have lost touch with reality, i.e. FACTS. Where is the uproar about GE losing over 180 Billion $ in 24+ months, vs the ongoing uproar about TESLA about peanuts!

You state what I was going to type (more or less). I don't know who the guy is, or the show, I am watching to listen to what Warren Buffett had to say, now she is great, calm, on point, lets Warren answer the question but not drift too much. The guy is a buffoon, a turn off.

About 2005 I worked at GE as an engineering contractor. At that time, GE was outsourcing its engineering to India. This was a complete disaster and they hired a bunch of old engineers like me to re-work the engineering from India. At the time I asked my manager why bother to go to India? You might as well give it to us old timers and cut out the middleman. The manager looked at me and said, “God has said that outsourcing is good. No one contradicts God. Besides, you guys are charged to the contract and no one cares as long as you are not charged to overhead.” So, we kept working. What I found at GE was that there were a ton of these Sigma 7 engineers that looked good, dressed right. Our manager was typical, she had spent several years in compliance and HR. She was sigma 7 certified. But, she had never gotten her feet wet. Frankly, she had little real world experience. And that was the problem with GE. There weren’t people there who had gotten their feet dirty walking an oil field or a factory. The guys who really knew what was going on were either old or retired.

I am not sure whether GE is involved in parts of the insurance industry, but if they are and this is one of the reasons for the decline. One of the things that is always risky is the fact of it's future foresight. Who really knows what will come out in it projections. Because as a lot of people have been watching. When huge payouts are not forecasted. It can throw a lot of the industry into turmoil. Causing these huge declines. This may not be the case here, but if it is then someone needs to take a real close look at the way they take on clients. Investors should also know when you watch lines up and down or completely down. It's identical to watching an individual having a heart attack, and the doctors are trying to stabilize the patient. It has to be done by the experts to be successful.

It is well known that when anyone challenges Buffett or says anything remotely negative about him people instantly go on the offensive as if he is some kind of god. I think the commentator was trying to ask him legitimate questions. Also what does being friends with someone have to do with whether the company was being managed appropriately?! The company has gotten so big over the years that it has become significantly more difficult to manage or even follow. Looking at the most recent 10Q it is clear that there are many things being left out. They are not and very likely have not been for a long while now disclosing substantial losses with significant portions of their business units. Prior management evidently believed he could aquire more and more companies in an effort to reduce debt and increase profitability. Obviously the reverse had occurred debt has went sky high whilst profitability has gone down.
