Not only Warren, East Liverpool, Wellsville, Midland P.A., etc. Manufacturing, Steel Mills, Potteries, auto manufacturers, outsourced to foreign countries or closed down. Some still hanging on hoping for better days. Salem, Canfield, Boardman, Calcutta, etc. aren't doing to bad. People went elsewhere for job opportunities and this is the results. I left East Liverpool in 1976 to California as companies were slowly dying. I came back in 2017 for family reasons, but left in 2021, back west to Nevada. California was good to me, but cost of living too high. L.A. has areas much like this. Run down , trash, homeless every where. I have traveled throughout the U.S. this is becoming common in and around cities. Sad to see beautiful towns that were prosperous in decay.

Having been raised in Warren, Ohio and seen both sides of this city’s economy , I can honestly say that my heart breaks each time I pass thru there. No attempt has ever been successful in their recovery efforts and the neighborhoods I used to play in all day have become an area that I very rarely pass thru any more…. And if I do it’s with great trepidation and a broken heart. 😞

Left in 2009 in my mid 40's, and that was pushing it for me even. So sad what happened to my home town. My grandpa moved here from Romania due to the prosperous economy back in the early 1900's. But that was a long time ago. I remember my grandpa's neighborhood being nice, manicured lawns, moral hard working people. But most of those people are all gone now. This is due to steel mills and other manufacturing closing yes, but many other reasons as well!

I lived in Warren Ohio between 2005and 2014 and the problem with Warren is the same problem that many steel mill cities faced. The mills shut down and all the secondary companies slowly shut down people moved to where jobs were landlords bought up houses and then turned them into low income housing and properties were not kept up and eventually were condemned.

I grew up in a different part of the world knowing that everything is beautiful in America, everybody has plenty. The image that this country protects to the world is , the US , is the greatest, the best in the world! I hope you can understand my English, but know that I have seen places like this one , I see how wrong I was . I feel sad to know places like this exist in the USA. Again I ask , how come no one does anything ? 😳😔 Thank you for sharing this video with us .🙏🙏 My blessings to all of you , from Washington. Good day everyone.🌸🌸

Maria, this city and this area is being run by the same people for decades and the mentality does not change. We have been represented in Washington by nothing more than people who really don't care, our local representative has been in office since 2003 has hasn't done very much to help the area. Couple bucks here and there, mainly for two local military type installations which in my opinion doesn't put much of anything back into the area. Now the same representative is seeking to be our next Senator. Backward thinking on everything, the city of Warren does not enforce it's codes and thus you see the neighborhoods are simply falling apart. All the Warren city leaders care about is "downtown" that's it. It's sad, I live here and see it every day. There is an older generation holding on barely, some working folk and a whole lot of working poor or unemployed. I could go on for hours and yes, you were not given the truth about the USofA. It is a great country yes, we give a lot of money away to other countries and in general the people of the US want to but it seems now to have got out of control. We need things fixed and addressed here at home. Have a Great Day Maria and Bless You!!

What does it take to bring industry back there ? They did it where I live by offering incentives to manufacturers like not paying any taxes for twenty years and other things. But it's all contingent upon the state supplying enough employees which means infrastructure for residential properties. I don't know if it's possible to bring back these areas. If only they would tear down these derelict homes, it would look so much better.
