That was really amazing. I love how Paolo switches piano comping styles during his excellent solo. Warren is on fire, and I love how he played a chorus without piano to show how well he plays the changes.

Only heard Paolo doing his stride stuff before but he's brilliant at the rest too. And Warren? Well just superb.

Fantastic - never heard of these guys before tonight - that's how ignorant I am even after playing for 60 years.

That's the curse of being a cornet player - anonymity. How many others can you name? ...after Bobby Hackett, Ruby Braff, Ray Nance, Nat Adderley & Thad Jones, I'm done.

When I see "The Man I Love", I can't help thinking 'not again'. Warren Vaché & Paolo Alderighi changed my mind. This is a tour de force. Warren immediately makes a drummer superfluous with his puckish rhythmic variations, and Paolo's solo weaves through the history of jazz piano, conjuring shades of Errol Garner, the bass lines of Dave McKenna, and the stride masters. Not to be outdone. Warren takes a chorus unaccompanied, as well. That's the curse of being a cornet player - anonymity. How many others can you name? ...after Bobby Hackett, Ruby Braff, Ray Nance, Nat Adderley & Thad Jones, I'm done.

Jim Cullum, but your point is well made. Incidentally, Cullum played for many years on the San Antonio Riverwalk with Allan Vache, clarinet player and Warren's brother. And yes, James is correct...Bix was a big name as well.
